Hi I don't know if this is the right place for this post. I am a long time pats fan from up north. I have tickets for the game against the fins. What is tailgating like at Gillette? I there anything that is a must do? First time for my wife and I....

Best advice is get there early. The gates open at 9am. That is right about the time we always get there. That way you can relax and enjoy the experience. Have fun.

You should have a great time. Definitely get there early and get a good parking spot. There is much more to do now around Gillette and should be a fun time for you and your wife. I'm sure there are plenty of people in here who are season ticket holders who can also give you some good advice.

Tailgating is half of the experience. I agree....get there at around 9AM if you can. Expect a lot of traffic. Bring a portable grill and propane, food (steaks, chicken, burgers, etc.) and adult beverages, some camping chairs, a small table if you have one, and something to keep yourself entertained for a few house such as a football to toss around. Plan on tailgating after the game too since the traffic sucks even more then.

Save time (pre or post game) to wander around Patriots Place. Its really neat

From Western Canada. A little town called Vernon British Columbia....

We are staying in Foxboro. Is it a good idea to take a cab? Will we be able to get one at game time? Or is it a better idea to take the rental car and park it?

Depending on what you want for your experience, if you want to get out quickly after the game, park a little further away from the stadium. We always park on one of the private lots on Rt. 1. We have to walk a little further, but by the time we get to our car, we have no traffic.

Born and raised in Lachine ... That's how I became a Pats fan used to watch the games on a snowy reception from the local Montpelier Vermont UHF TV Station.

Depends on where in Foxboro you are staying. If you are within say two miles, I'd actually walk to the game. Save yourself the $40-$50 for parking, although that means you'll have to tailgate wherever you are staying at.

I agree with that. Don't take a taxi. Even if you take one there, how are you going to get one back?

I used to park in the End Zone hotel, 1 mile south of the stadium. Good place to hang out before the game and very easy to get out after the game. I'd be home in Providence within an hour of the game ending when I parked there, and I always stay till the final whistle.

Have a great time and bring alot of cash (but no loonies or twoonies!

I'd go with the rental car. Tailgating before and after the game, at the razor, is so much a part of the experience. As many have said, the new Patriots place is cool to see too. You'll have a great time.

Thank You everyone for your advice..... We are definitely looking forward to this experience........... Regards JoeyC

I would take the car and tailgate. It's an awesome experience. Have a great time I know we will. Marinated steak tips this weekend!

Enjoy your first time, I went to my first game 3 seasons ago and was in complete awe. I'm from Canada too! I'm in New Brunswick, eh?
