Was not impressed with Mangini's Coaching..

They had 12 men on the field a couple times, and Favre had to call a timeout as 2 TEs were in motion and he had no idea what was going on. Granted there are a lot of new players on the team, but it starts from the top down. Mangina said himself the Patriots have one of the best front 7s in the league, yet he runs the ball 3 times in a row at the goal line. I think he's just so bent up on beating the Pats he misses the fundamentals.

There were some mental breakdowns by the Jesters, which reflects somewhat on the assistant coaches who are supposed to be handling formation changes and such. Overall I was impressed with the improvement of the Jesters, Mangini now has a legitimate 3-4 front seven, and the biggest weakness of his secondary is inexperience. If Woody Johnson can suck it up another year or two, while Tannenbaum drafts some more young studs, this will be a tougher team to play.

But they still won't have a starting QB...

And their offensive system will be in undisciplined tatters for whatever comes after the Favre experiment in 2009 or 2010...

I mostly agree. There's some good young talent on that defense, and the OL, while hugely expensive, should be solid for the short term. The problem areas seem to be skill players on offense, coaching, and any flexibility to maneuver under the cap.

i have never been impressed by the RATS coaching

Favre looked his best when improvising. Otherwise, the playbook and he don't mix. Even Coles said as much when talking about how the play has Coles running one route, but Favre wants him to run another and Mangini ends up telling Coles, "Just go with what Favre wants." Awful coaching. Awful way to run an offense.

Regards,
Chris

Yeh, but that's Lord Favre starting at gunslinger, a 50/50 chance he'll get the ball to an open receiver or kill your scoring shot with an interception. It's hard to fault the Jester coaches for trying to punch it in behind their $17.95/lb O-line.

Mangini had no respect for Cassel's game and expected him to blow it. He played conservatively based on that flawed premise.

Cassel's poise in the 2nd half won this game. He completed crucial passes at crucial moments and did not pull the John Kitna act Mangini was anticipating.

This was the biggest game of Mangini's coaching career. Bigger than the playoff game 2 years ago, when he was an underdog on a honeymoon.

This was the first big game Mangini was expected to win.

His coaching approach was telling. He coached like the scared, gutless football man he is.

I think he peed down his pantleg in the 3rd quarter.

The 4th and 3 pass by BB to seal the game was a FU intended not only to seal the win but rightly humiliate Mangini for his spineless coaching last week in Miami [choosing to run on 3rd and 7 to seal the game] and the 3 rushes inside the 3 in the 1st half.

BB has taken the measure of Mangini, and knows better than anyone that Mangini is a football coward.
