Positives-

The defense- The whole defense stepped up.. AD was great today, Seymoer steped up I was impressed with the overall defense.. Then Bent but they did not break

Lamont Jordan- will be a great FA pick up for 08 i

Matt Cassel- him and welker will bond well.. lets hope he and moss mesh well

Stephen Gostkowski- - Adam who??

Negatives

Maroney- can he show up in a big game?? we need him

Moss- He needs to be involved in the whole game

Defense- all though they were great at times, the first drive looked to be long..

Bottom line- it will be the motto in 08- In Bill we trust....

Until Maroney gets rid of that hop step crap after he gets the hand off, I don't see him being a long term answer as a between the tackles runner like what you saw out of Jordan today. Even thinking back to last year's Chargers playoff game, a number of his runs then were off tackle. He's gotta hit the hole hard, and that step will never let him do that.

Overall, I thought the Jets' o-line looked pretty good, a good test for our defense, and I think we played well against it. One thing's for sure, the Jets' line looked a whole lot better than the Colts' o-line did today...

Positives:

Ellis Hobbs - his best game yet?

Deltha O'Neal- looked good in coverage

Ty Warren - dominated Damien Woody

Kevin Faulk - every Qb seems to love this guy, excellent punt returns

Stephen Gostkowski- really booming the ball, wow.

Negatives:

Chris Hanson - try to kick the ball inside the 20, please.

OL - I don't know if I can properly criticize them. Too much pressure, but was it Cassel holding the ball too long & less pocket awareness? Little run game in the first 3 quarters, but was it just Maroney dancing too much?

Ellis Hobbs - Man this guy sucks huh? What a great season so far. The only complain I have on him is doing a dance after every play. He needs to tone it down, but damn he's so much better when healthy.

I <3 Jordan.

Welker, he's perfect for easing Cassel into easy situations.

Moss really needs to get involved with the offense. I understand who we have now behind center but Matt certainly has arm strength. Would mroe than one deep ball really kill us? C'mon Josh.

Defense looks good, but I'd like to see the big plays through the air stop. They'll kill us at some point. Other than that, I can't complain much. This unit looks very solid.

Its been just 2 games, but the secondary doesn't look nearly as abad as advertised. There were numerous times Favre had enough time to walk his dog than pass and his boys were covered. However, the pass rush did a good job knocking him out of the pocket. This will be big against less mobile QB's. Favre is still pretty quick for an old white dude ;]

Soemtimes it makes me wonder if Lomo isn't suited for this offense. Straight runners seem better for this line, not cutback, slasher types.

Agree with most your points with the exceptions: Moss. He was one very tall decoy today drawing double coverage in a very conservative game plan that did not allow the QB to put the ball in harm's way and the Defense??? That first drive was typical of the Pats, and the adjustments from then on shut the Jets down for most of the day. They were stout!!!

Other than that, good points, and I'd add Faulk, Jerod Mayo (team-leading tackler), and the Defense to the positives.

Positive; Pats won: Jordan runs like Dillon. Cassel was OK.

Negative: Maroney was hurt.

Bring on Miami

(+)'s - Mayo's speed to run down plays from sideline to sideline or from behind.

Not mentioned

Negative: Koppen was the weak link on the line. Allowing sacks, pressure and hits in backfield. JMO.

he had jenkins in front of him....by FAR the toughest match up for our O-line...

and on Moss...i am not completely sure, but i could swear he was single covered most of the game

Positive: Meriweather started wearing his cleats on his feet instead of his hands.

Moss wouldn't be a negative if Cassel didn't underthrow him by about 10 yards on that deep pass which should have been a TD. I'm not jumping on Cassel I think he was tremendous. He made two bad throws the whole game, that one, and the one at 16-10 in the right corner of the end zone to Welker on 3rd down. Pace got his hands on that, almost picked it off or tipped it to himself.

The thing about Cassel that I liked was he didn't force anything when the pocket was collapsing, which happened maybe a little too much. Jenkins is a beast but he killed Koppen today.

Has anyone seen Jabar?

No, from what I saw...... He was doubled almost all day. Except the bomb play, which was uncalled, he just blew by the defender, but Cassel couldn't get it to him. Also, not sure if they decoyed him because he's not 100% (he missed some practive time this week).

Jabbar was MIA, but he missed time too. Perhaps he's not all the way back either. Either way.... conservative game plan isn't gonna give anybody to many yards.

Biggest problem i saw was thomas blocking TE responsiblity.
He absolutely blew up and then the OL was forced to put a tackle on his man which led to dan koppan taking on the jenkins alone.

we missed watson. thomas and spach need to learn to block but it took a few yrs for watson do it good.I think i would like to see heath evans in their at TE but he is our FB . so this needs to be sorted with a blocking TE or a FB who can line up as TE.

Has anyone seen Jabar?

Yeah, I saw him making the key blocks on almost every long pass play (Faulk and Welker).

Cassel threw to his binkies (welker and faulk) more than anyone else, including Moss. Don't blame the other WR's completely for their lack of catches/yardage. We also ran the ball a lot more than normal.

Jabar played well IMO.

Add Matt Light to the positives. Looked solid and was downfield on a lot of plays. Also--no drive-killing penalties on the OL.

David Thomas missed at least a couple of blocks that I saw. He looks like a below-average blocker for a tight end. OTOH, there were no dropped passes by a tight end in this game. When was the last time you could say that about a Patriots game in which Watson and/or Graham played?

Rodney is just not fast enough to make any plays anymore. James Sanders doesn't look like he's improved any from last year. This may be as good as it gets with him.

Kevin Faulk had some really good punt returns.
