I didn't hear him called all day. Did he even play?

Looks like Beioli hit another one right on the head.

He did play because I did see him get run over on a play. So far in two games, he hasn't even recorded an assisted tackle. Obviously it is way, way too early to call him a bust, but you would expect the #6 pick in the draft to make some kind of impact right away. Mayo is making a big one (he led the team in tackles with 7, all solo).

Mayo is fast. I hope we draft someone to go right next to him next year.

Where?.........having take-out tacos with Tony Mandarich and Kenneth "game-day" Sims.

I believe the correct answer is engaged with the left or right tackle or on the sideline until he can learn how to use his speed instead of using the bull rush every damn down. Whatever it was nothing involved hitting the QB

K-Ro was it you who I got into the Bull Rush argument with in the preseason. I know I did with one the Jets fans regulars on this board. His overreliance on the bull rush was the reason I soured on the guy prior to the draft. It was basically his only consistent move in college.

lol yea guilty as charged. I will just walk away with my plate of crow you were dead right. I think he can develop more moves but right now he doesnt have them or he is doing his best not to use em

Hey it happens to the best of them. I thought Chad Jackson had the potential to be a star in the Pats' offense too.

Thanks for coming back K-Ro can't say the same for the other coward Jet fans that ran and hid. Bit of anger going on over GangGreen tonight huh ? Love reading some of those posts over there right now, :)

I told you about Favre, good for at least one horribly thrown pick more often than you want to let on. Yet you're telling us he's a top 5 QB. You were raving about Damien "paycheck " Woody, he got literally abused as did Faneca & D-Bust, Seymour ate the two of those guys for lunch. How much of your CAP money did Faneca bank anyway?

What's really scary is that the Pats more than likely score TD's on those first two drives if Brady was playing, with Cassel they're field goals. If Brady was playing this would have been ugly.

Never should have drafted him to play on his feet. He needs to be a 4-3 end in a 1-gap scheme. Tremendous athletic talent, but asking him to come in right away, as raw as he was, and contribute at a position he has no clue how to play is a recipe for disaster.

Belichick had Tannenbaum sold on us wanting Gholston. Tannenbaum and Mangini were so sure of it I don't think they ever considered if Gholston was a good fit for their system. In the meantime we trade down a few spots and get 1 of the the top 5 players in the entire draft ... this move will haunt them for a long time.

I'm sure glad the Jets picked him. The more I read about him lst spring the more he seemed like a shaky pick.
Mayo on the other hand seems to be in on every play, he looks like a great player in the making.

so true. He has no experience in coverage and wouldn't be able to start at LB. If you're a top 10 pick you should be starting, but now he's playing out of position and isn't learning as quickly as hoped. If the Pats drafted him I would have said IBBWT, but there's always that question mark if a player can make the transition.

Chris Long is in the same boat, but lucky for him he landed with a 4-3 team that needed help right away, and he's been doing a good job there.

I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories, but I do believe this one. Planting draft disinformation makes a ton of sense, and there kept being whispers about the Pats moving up for Gholston...while I'm convinced that they never even planned to pick as high as #7.

It's way too early to call him a bust. Right now Mayo looks the real deal.

Gholston may also the real deal, but right now he hasn't lived up to the top 10 pick that he was.

I'm still bummed about Chad. I keep thinking that no one picked him up and now BB will give him another chance and now his head is straight and ... and ... and ... sigh. never mind :(

Yep, that's exactly the problem. Gholston's a rookie switching to OLB, which is a hard adjustment. So he looks like a rookie, which is no more than you'd expect. So there shouldn't be any cause for concern yet...except he's earning as much as Adalius Thomas. In the top 10, you just can't afford to have a developmental OLB on the Pierre Woods plan.

Favre still is a very good QB. What was your take on the fat mess aka Kris "Beast " Jenkins?

Mike Lombardi (in his excellent blog) has been talking about Gholston's struggles for weeks. According to Lombardi, Gholston relied too heavily in his great athletic ability in college to dominate lesser opponents. He is lost in coverage and vs. the run. No pass rush moves yet, either.

He had a great first half (when our Ballerina RB (LMaroney) was in as the primary ball carrier). In the 2cond half, when BB stuck with the iron of Jordan and Morris, Jenkins seems to fade a bit didn't he? He tires easily, again because of his weight especially when physical RB's start banging it up inside like Lamont.

You're boy Faneca and D-Bust where mauled by Richard Seymour, literally mauled. You were touting this O-Line as the greatest things since the 80's Hogs, what were thoughts on how they performed as well as The Ghost ?
