Been the best player in the secondary for sure. If he can keep this up the defense can be very good. Keep it going Ellis!

Re: Through two weeks Hobbs has been great.

I must agree. I have slammed him pretty good here before, but he has truly looked good. Hope he can keep it up. Great overall day for the defense...and whattya know??? Merriweather actually held onto the ball...good sign!!:D

Re: Through two weeks Hobbs has been great.

He has stepped up so far. In the first half when he was throwing hail marys to his midget receivers like it was a Han**** North Central High School I held my breath. Hobbs was there each time.

He's healthy for the first time in a while. If his groin was 85% last year we win the superbowl because he's all over the final td.

the whole defense has been awesome and stepped up. the red zone defense has been stellar.

deltha oneal deserves props

mayo has been as advertised

i've been impressed with the entire defense and we do have some depth. merriwether caught a ball!!!

Hobbs has been playing lights out so far.

I do get nervous when I see him returning kicks, though. One bad hit and out secondary is in big trouble.

Hobbs has been playing very well. Meriweather is filthy.

in fact, their cb's may be one of the worst in the nfl as of right now. [...] this may be the worst overall secondary i have seen the pats put together.

"we do. His name is hobbs."

  Huh???? Hobbs will never be a top 5 corner......the guy gets burned several times a game and should only be in there for certain packages......

He was awesome today. The three corners have been about as good as we could have hoped thus far.

Did anyone notice Wilhite in on any plays? I'm assuming not.

It is no coincidence that Hobbs had a very good rookie season playing the left side. Declined when they swapped him to right side for Samuel who himself went from an average CB to a great CB after the switch. Now he is back on the left side and playing great again.

I always like Hobbs, but he has brought his game to a new level this year so far.

Wilhite ran down a few punts, but that was the only time I noticed him.

 Hobbs is still playing the right side, and Hobbs didn't decline... he has been hampered by injuries, and unfairly criticized for plays that were mostly not his fault.

I agree. He's showing the promise I saw the year we saw in 06/07 (year we lost AFCCG to Indy). I do wish he'd leave the dancing to Emmitt Smiff and Jason Taylor. He wasn't dancing much on Feb 3 when it really mattered. Just do your job and let that speak for itself. No more dancing Mr. Swayze.

i guess it's a matter of time before slater gets his chance?

Hobs is much better in man coverage and they are playing a lot of man this year so far.

Thanks e, I momentarily thought I was losing it... LOL

Did you put your hands up, shut your eyes and picture what is left and what is right, like I did? LOL

Hobbs did fine against Croyle,Huard and a 38 year old Favre

BUT a few guys named Peyton Manning,Ben Roethlisberger and Matt Hasslebeck will be coming on the schedule soon to test him,But Hasslebeck may not have any receivers to throw to by then anyway
