Belichick is rumored to be talking about trading for Garcia.

Belichick is rumored to be talking about trading for Garcia.

I would strongly consider changing the thread title and giving a source.

Not sure that Garcia would make all that much of a difference... despite what you hear, this is very unbelichickian.. unless Tampa picked up most of his salary and there was something like a 6th round pick involved.

If this team can keep its head above water for the next 2 months, get Garcia acclimated to the offense by December (assuming Cassel isn't lighting the world on fire), AND Vince, Sey, Rodney, Vrabs, Mankins and Moss stay 100% healthy........Patriots become super Bowl favorites again in the AFC. And being a dog in the super bowl means jack - we know that from both sides of the aisle.

If Cassel gets us to the playoffs, or plays well enough to keep us in contention through Thanksgiving, I say, dance with who brought ya.......

Now, I would think you'd have to say Garcia. He's a pretty good QB. And we're guessing on Cassel. Belichick might well have the luxury of waiting to see what we have on Cassel, so there's no reason to make this decision yet.

The thread title is "a poll on QB's" Rumors don't usually need sources. If you would rather I could have used the word "speculation" I suppose that might be a better word, but the thread title is fine.

You got a link for this so called rumor or is this just something you made up?

Even if Cassel is great, there is still like a 50% chance he misses at least 1 start later this season. look at how many starting QBs got 16 starts last year - not many. If the price on Garcia isn't crushing, take him in - as a backup at the very least.

The poll asks to choose between Garcia (if Belichick were to bring him in) and Cassel.

The story last week was that Garcia was being shopped around and New England was one of the teams. I don't save reference on such idle talk. If it make is easier for you to believe that I made it up, that's fine. Before you choose, consider that I made up the possibility of Garcia.

What would you pay for a backup?

Where's the only correct answer, which is that none of us have any idea, given the history of the two players involved?

For some reason, the poll didn't come up when I first clicked the link. As you were.

Garcia is 1 yr removed from a 95ish QB rating on a fringe playoff team with OK offensive talent. My position is that Garcia would not be a back - he would start. I am trying to appease the people that have think Cassel is good enough by reminding them that the chances are slim that he plays the entire season (especially someone that hasn't taken a hit since 1999 may not shake it off like a regular player).

As for compensation, whatever it takes. Maybe Gruden want's Lamont Jordan and CJ Jones. I would give that up :)

Source?

Also you'd have to wait at least 4 weeks to have any proper evaluation on Cassel yet.

Cassel has a 116 Passer rating on a full-bore playoff team. Just saying.

Some writers speculated Garcia may be of some interest but don't put 'Belichick is interested' in there - He is NOT interested at this time and never said he was or Garcia would have been called in for at least a physical

If Cassel gets hurt then you will probably hear rumblings
