I think this is a tricky week for knockout pools.

You could take the Giants, but everyone will probably take them, and I think it pays more to go in a different direction than the obvious pick most of the time. The Rams are awful but to be honest I don't trust the Giants.

I ended up with Tampa over Atlanta, but a lot of the others are a little tricky.

You could go with San Diego or Indy, but they're tough to rely on off awful debuts.

Green Bay over Detroit, but that's a huge sandwich game for the Packers. Arizona over Miami, but after all it is Arizona.

I agree. I went with the Pats last week (phew!) and this week I'm risking it with Arizona. Mostly b/c the Dolphins are so bad.

I had Philly last week and, like you, Tampa Bay this week. What was each person's up-front amount in your pool?

Do we still have a knockout pool going on this board? I threw my prediction in first week, but haven't seen a follow-up for week 2?

I also picked the Pats last week and was about to pick the Cardinals but went with the Seahawks (who play at home against SF; both teams sucked last week and hopefully the Seahawks come out on the top. I know zilch about the west coast teams).

hope both of us come out well.

My office pool is $40 buy-in. About 22 of us.

I had Pitt last week, which I neglected to mention in the original post, though I did screw up the use of "they're." They're are about 25 of us, I think 5 got knocked out last week on either Indy (who I almost took), Seattle, and one idiot took Detroit on the road in week 1. $30 bucks, winner take all.

Our fee is $20 with 75 people in. Amazingly, 25 went out last week, with 12 taking SD, 5 Indy
and the rest some inexplicable picks. 2 years ago, it came down to this other guy and me and we both won for a couple of weeks. I should have split with him, but I got greedy and lost.

The one knock out pool I am in, I went with NEP, this week.

Don't be offended here but can I ask why?

I mean, if you're so hellbent on using the Pats, why not wait until next week when they play Miami, or why didn't you use them last week?

I used the Giants last week. This weeks pick was purely emotional. Go Matt! My pool is not for money.
