RAVENS-TEXANS WILL PLAY MONDAY NIGHT IN HOUSTON
Posted by Mike Florio on September 11, 2008, 6:06 p.m. EDT
And right after we hit the button posting our most recent entry, we received an e-mail informing us that the Week Two game between the Ravens and Texans will be played on Monday night, September 15, at 8:30 p.m. EDT.

The game will be televised regionally on CBS, and won’t be broadcast by ESPN as a second Monday night game.

The Eagles and Cowboys will meet on Monday night in Dallas.

that really sucks these games are going to be played at the same time... what the hell is that crap.

move one up an hour and a half, move the other back and hour and a half.

both are good games.

Really...THAT would have been interesting...just offsey by a bit of time..and what if Dallas or Phillie pounds their opponent? Typical NFL...

I wonder if it will be broadcast on DirecTV also since it would have been part of the Sunday Ticket....

More than likely it will be available on Sunday Ticket for those outside the markets that would have this game on.

Could they have played it Saturday night instead I wonder?

Nope, it won't be broadcast outside Balt, DC and Texas. I just called them and they used the "it's out of our control" line......
It doesn't stop them from keeping the money though......

Doesn't bother me a bit...

In TX, we were going to get Texans game--now we get the Pats.

Game has officially been post-posted due to some structural damage on the roof of Reliant stadium.

Baltimore has a week 10 bye and the Texans have a week 8 bye. So I have no idea when they are supposed to play the game. I mean, it's not like you can play it on a Wednesday and have someone play 3 games in 8 days.

It's a bizarre situation. There looks to be no other choice. Although, since neither team will make the playoffs they could reschedule it for Wildcard weekend. ;)

They should play it in the Superdome since the Saints are in DC this week and it's the closest NFL stadium not being used Monday night. If nothing else it will make a hell of a story.

I remember back when Miami had to reschedule a couple seasons ago. it wasn't on Directv even thouhg I had sunday ticket. so i doubt it will be televised nationally.

can you expect people who just got devastated to travel to New ORleans?

It's probably going to be sandwiched between the two bye weeks and most likely theyll be playing games in 3 days. some one is going to get the short end of the stick.

If it is played on a monday night, or whenever. I better get this game on sunday ticket. I dont give a crap about either team, but I pay for all those games, and thats some bull sht right there.

Of course not. You offer those who can't go a refund and sell cheap tickets in New Orleans. I can't imagine they'll sandwich it in between the byes. If the NFL wants to be consistent they'd play it in Baltimore and call it a Texans "home" game like they did to the Saints after Katrina but that was totally unfair to the Saints. The neutral site in New Orleans is good from a media perspective and the locals will go and support the Texans if it happens.

EDIT: If I remember correctly the Chargers did this a few years back when they played a game in Arizona due to wild fires so there is precedent

Ravens-Texans game moved to Week 10

National Football League

Due to extensive damage at Reliant Stadium and the devastation in Houston and the surrounding areas caused by Hurricane Ike, the Houston Texans' home game against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 (1 p.m. ET) at Reliant Stadium.

Short notice made it logistically impossible to play this week at alternate sites. The change in dates also affects the Cincinnati Bengals' bye week schedule.

The regular-season schedule for the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals has been changed as a result of this weekend's postponement. The changes for these three teams are as follows:

The Houston Texans' bye has been changed from Sunday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 14.

The Texans' next two games will take place as scheduled on the road -- Sunday, Sept. 21 against the Tennessee Titans at LP Field and Sunday, Sept. 28 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

The Baltimore Ravens' bye has been changed from Sunday, Nov. 9 to Sunday, Sept. 14.

The Cincinnati Bengals' bye has been changed from Sunday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Nov. 9.

The Texans' home game against the Cincinnati Bengals originally scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 has been rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26 (4:05 p.m. ET) at Reliant Stadium.
