I answered the same question during the preseason over at Patriots Planet, my answer then was the AFC had a very slight edge over the NFC based on QB strength. Brady going down appears to shift things even closer to parity - now we get to see how this shakes out on the field.Listen,
There has only been one game in the season. If the AFC gets healthy, it will be back to the same. Manning/Colts will get better, Pittsburgh is strong.....For crying out loud there has only been 1 game!!!
It's Week 1. Even the Patriots have had hiccups in Week 1 (2003 comes to mind). Give it a month before we get a better handle on how the conferences are going. I still think the Colts, Chargers, and Jaguars are better than most NFC teams.
1) If we had won the SB and Tom Brady were healthy, the Patriots would be considered the best team ever to play football. Also, the AFC would be considered to vastly dominant over the NFC, as has been the case since 2001.
2) Tom Brady is just NOT that important. We have a 53 man roster. The patriots are still a playoff team and may move deep into the playoffs.
I love if statements. Can I play that game too? If the Chargers were not decimated by injuries the Patriots would have finished 17-1 and avoided the humiliation of losing the SB.
There are lies, damn lies and then this statement. Belichick will not admit it publicly, but he knows his team is done this year.
I would include the steelers.
