I just realized, since Brady went down that gives the jets a good chance at making the playoffs, if the Jets make the play offs that ensures Mangina atleast one more year of head coaching in the nfl. If Brady were healthy this would almost definitely be the year the rat hit the chopping block.

But if the Pats win the division without Brady, Mangini will be fired. Bank on it.

The Patriots have control over the Jets in only two games this year. If the Pats can win both of them, then the absence of Brady in relation to the Jets' playoff chances is a moot point.

Why would this give the Jets a good chance to make the playoffs?
They certainly arent winning the division, we are, so I don't know how Brady being injured helps them get a wildcard.

"...shuffle off to Buffalo..."

Well, if the Pats have a bad record this year then that opens up the possibility that the Jets can win the East with a 10-6/9-7/mediocre record. With Brady, the Pats were probably a 12 win team at worst, putting more pressure on the Jets to get a wild card. It's an indirect but still real pressure.

Great point, It would be that much worst for him if we win without brady

Actually, you're right. I somehow forgot about that. My logic was flawed. The Patriots would still have to take care of their business against non-Jets opponents.

youre talking about the jets that barely beat miami? i'd be more concerned about the bills than the jets, but maybe that's just me. besides, it doesn't matter because we'll win the division. maybe those two teams will have to fight over a wild card, but that's not our problem.
