on Sunday. If we lose - well - no Brady but IF we WIN - a great UPSET! I don't think BB has been in this position in a long, long time......

no if we lose we lose and we still lose a year of a dynasty

Yes, I think so at this point. Most outside of NE most likely don't expect much now that Brady's gone.

Not really. BB hasn't brought in a vet meaning he's stuck with Cassel for the next 2 or 3 weeks at least. If we lose and Cassel looks like garbage, it's going to be a pretty crushing loss.

NO! We still have a team that is loaded with talent. The Pats have all over the Jets except for the QB position now. IF they lose on Sunday I will not use the excuse that Brady went down.

Are we just going to forgoe the season and forget about the other 52 guys on the roster, throw up pur hands and say well, TB wasn't there so it's OK? I'll tell you right now, there's no way I'm doing that!

The Jets are only 2 point favorites here so if the Pats win it would hardly be an upset

If by some chance the Pats lay a beatdown on the NYJ Sunday and Cassel does OK, NFL fans will LOSE THEIR COLLECTIVE MINDS. Every one of them had a sigh of relief when Brady went down. They don't want to have to deal with New England, so they just assume they are done and won't have to worry about them. Give them a reminder and they will freak :D

Ridiculous.
We NEED TO WIN. Not having Brady is not an excuse for the other 52 players to not need to win.
IT IS NOT AN UPSET IMO, because we are a better team than the Jets. If it wasn't for the overrating of the Jets because they have a big name QB who is at a point in his career where he is as much a risk as a reward, and the knee-jerk reaction to Bradys injury, we would be a 4-6 point favorite.

What the hell is house money? House money is when you've won so much you can afford to lose. The Patriots have won 1 game, and if they lose they will be in 2nd (or 3rd) place, a game behind the Jets and down in the tiebreaker. That is a critical game, not one that winning doesnt matter in.

And I believe that's exactly the thinking of "the other 52 players." I believe they'll be UP for this game, to say the least . . . .

I'm sick and tired of this crap. You don't make excuses in the game of football, and losing Brady doesn't suddenly make it 'alright' to lose this game. This is NOT a win-win situation, I'm pissed at seeing it portrayed us such over and over.

We lost Brady...good, move on and perform to the best of the teams capabilities with what they still have. Injuries are a part of the game...the Eagles lost TO down the stretch when they went to the SB; SD has lost LDT, Gates, Rivers, and Merriman for different stretches the past two years; the Giants were missing half their defense early last season; I mean, these things happen. It makes things difficult on the team, and losing a player like Brady it's hard to be as optomistic as you were before, but what it doesn't do is give you, as a fan, excuses...that's just a cop-out, crap way to look at it, imo.

I guess we know who'll be quitting on this team if the going gets tough this year.

Concur wholeheartedly. Bear in mind, this Jets team was about 18 yards away from losing last week to the Miami Dolphins, a team which a brief review of the names on the roster should show to be a true rebuilding project with few expectations other than to take a step or two forward from last year. The Jets fans can try to dismiss that game as playing against a castoff QB familiar with the Jets defense, heat, or looking past the Dolphins game to the Patriots, but the addition of Favre does not make the Jets a good team or a playoff caliber team. Given the rivalry, the Patriots should have every motivation to make a positive statement this week as to how good a team they really have.

While no player likes to lose a teamate ... I find it hard to believe these guys aren't jacked up to the challenge. They're always jacked up ... but this jacked up has a different flavor and they will rise to the occasion.
