Belichick will stun the Jets by allowing Cassell to actually throw the ball and the kid will come up big in N.Y.

Patriots 28-17

Cassell goes 20-34 for 312 yards, 3 TD's, 2 INTs

2 bombs to Moss for TD's, a short one to Welker.

They should lock this thread.....;)

Hate to be one of the few but I think the Rats welcome Favre to their home field for the real games that count and play great for him - Unfortunately I think the rats will beat our boys sunday :(

this thread is an insult to Sarah Palin and women all across america and it demands an apology. Oh wait...sorry..force of habit from the politcal thread.........

You're predicting that the Pats' defense will have 3+ takeaways.

Against Favre that's realistic, but hardly a gimme.

I anticipate Favre trying to make something out of nothing and throw one of those "Favre like throws" that will result in a INT. Maybe a pick 6? :)

44-21 Patriots

The Jets are way overrated right now. Buffalo is the team we should worry about.

27-14 Pats.

I'll be absolutely shocked if the Pats don't pick off Brett "The Human Interception Machine" Favre at least twice.

Defense forces at least 1 Favre turnover from a 'Capers' style blitz.
Crable flashes in his debut as an edge rusher (He was purposefully being held out of KC game for this role).
Lamont Jordan runs like a beast against his old team (Like Crable, Jordan's carriers were limited against KC).
Cassel plays like a saavy vet. Throws 1 TD to Moss.
Pats win: 20-14.

I think there is a possibility for the Pats to win this Sunday......The Jets barely got by Miami......who looked pretty shaky...but almost beat NY late...Either way,.I don't see the Jests beating us big if they do win....will be close....

The running game is strong (Lamont Jordan wants to show up his old team) opening up Cassel to make some good throws.
I'd say Patriots 24-Jets 14

This can't be considered analysis in any way, shape or form, but you absolutely cannot discount the fact that Patriots players will be playing this game angry. Going into the season they were considered the best team in football, coming off the most dominant season in the history of the NFL.

They lose their QB and all they hear is that they can't win with this team, that they're not going to make the playoffs, that Belichick won't suceed without Brady, and on and on. Some on this board believe this will be an 'adjustment' game, where the Pats will not look crisp because they'll be adjusting to the new man under center. Me, I believe that sometimes you see a team play balls-to-the-wall for 60 minutes (Giants in the SB, though I hate to even bring it up) and have that extra gear because they're out to prove something, not just win a game. Add in that they still have an amazing roster top-to-bottom, and I say they win this one by 2 TD's, minimum.

And all the clippings (especially from the NY media) certainly won't hurt.

Sorry fellas but it's time to put down the Kool Aid.

Belichick is a genius and the Defense will keep up us in it but Cassel is not the answer.

He barely beat a third rate team and it took a defensive stand (like we used to see) to bring it home. Cassel will be warming a bench before November and seeking unemployment before the Draft. I don't hate him (like many) he just doesn't have the talent.

I'll look for the return of the Man next year.

I might wait a few more weeks before you light your candles and wait for your Man to return. Remember, going into the game Cassel was the backup...he got backup snaps in practice, the gameplan was designed around Brady's strength's and abilities, and there's a whole mental preparation aspect that can't be discounted.

All that said, Cassel didn't look bad at all in the Chiefs game...most of the issues stemmed from poor playcalling and stalled drives when a 3rd and ____ went to a RB, who got stuffed. They'll address these, work on a playbook for Cassel, give him starters reps this week, and I think you'll see a slightly different, more ball-control oriented offense this week.

Lamont Jordan shows up on Sunday. Maybe only a few plays, but he's there. I have a good feeling about this game:D There's no way we lose.

Against KC he was 13-18 with a 116 rating. That should esasily be good enough to warrant a predicted win against the Jets who weren't much better than the Cheifs last year. Give him a chance before condemning him.

When has this team ever NOT responded BIG to adversity? Those instances are few and far between.

Pressed by events they have no control over, the Pats' defense begins a stretch where it really roars! Look for an inspired defense to force some turnovers in a 24-3 win!

As an aside, I'm not sure this problem can be fixed at this late stage, but somehow Belichik and the staff somehow has to break Cassel of the habit of visually following his intended #1 receiver. He can get away with that against a D like KC's, but against the better teams, he'll be telegraphing his passes, and that spells trouble.

Just my 2 cents, FWIW....
