Colts tackle Ed Johnson busted in pot possession case

A Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian announced today that defensive tackle Ed Johnson was arrested for speeding and possession of marijuana early this morning in Hamilton County.

"Those charges have been filed, it is my understanding, and we are in the process right now of determining what course of action to take with respect to discipline," Polian said. "There will be discipline, the question is what is it."


Johnson is a starter but coach Tony Dungy said he would not play Sunday when the Colts face Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dungy said he was uncertain who would replace the second-year player from Penn State in the lineup.

Johnson was unavailable for comment.

This is a big blow for the Colts since their run defense was miserable against the Bears and are about to face Adrian Peterson. Johnson is their best DT with Raheem Brock moving to starting DE. I can see the Colts going 0-2 with the Jags the following week.

Both incidents are alleged of course. No one has been found guilty.

I agree AP should run wild on Indy but I don't see how Jackson and the WR are going to keep up with Peyton so I would still put this in the W column for Indy.

With the Colts' o-line being turnstyles and the Vikings having an even better d-line than the Bears, I think the Vikings can keep up with the one to two TDs that Manning will put up on Sunday. I think that the two Williams DTs and Jared Allen are going to be all over Manning on Sunday that he might press charges for gang rape.

If Manning had even an average o-line, I might agree with you. But he has a mediocre o-line especially up the middle which is poison for a pure pocket passer. Manning had a deer in the headlights look on Sunday night and I expect him to have it again this Sunday.

Damn I wish that I had watched it. After that game, I was so depressed because of Brady, I didn't even bother watching any other games.

Are you sure it was the Colts who suspended him (Ed Johnson )? How come the league didn't suspend him? The NFL needs to demand a drug test and if Ed Johnson is found positive for THC (marijuana) then the league must come down hard or they prove their pro Colts bias.

You don't even have to have it in your system to be suspended.

Something tells me the Colts wouldn't call for a team suspension if it wasn't a guarantee that the league would. Caught speeding and in possession of marijuana (in-season, no less) is definitely a suspension-worthy offense when having a couple Js at a concert is all you really need.

The Colts suspended him. I'm guessing that he doesn't have a strike already against him that would lead to a 4 game suspension. If a 4 gamer was coming, I don't know if the Colts would suspend him so quickly.

BTW, how did Kaczur avoid suspension?

Colts cut him. Maybe he was a cancer I don't know. He had issues in college.
Our DTs suck every year. Can we get some who wants to play and don't do drugs?

Booger come back. Or trade for someone again? Probably move Brock back to DT full time.

Colts signed Justin Forsett and we do not need backs.

Only good news is that Saturday is back at practice and could play this weekend.
