Disgusting - but i shouldn't expect anything less from Steelers' fans

Well, when you get owned year in and year out by the same team, you get real bitter....as this shows. I despise Steeler fans more than any other.

sigh...I am embarressed at that t-shirt. Every team has its lunatics.

I will say that I've seen a fair amount of anti-Peyton shirts that I thought were stupid. They weren't celebrating an injury though, that's pretty bad. What do you expect from Steelers fans though? The organization is good, but the fans are inbred, union-town dipsh!ts.

EDIT: and arrogant!

My mother-in-law lives in Uniontown. Spot on.

Actually, I'm not imbred and I'm not a dipstick (modified)

I am arrogant. Very Very Arrogant. So I'll let that one go and will take it as a compliment.

Are some Steelers fans jackholes...sure...so are some Broncos Fans, some Raiders Fans, some Cowboys Fans, some Eagles Fans, some Jets Fans, and some Patriots Fans. We all have our black sheep fans.

One thing that is hard for Steelers fans to understand is that we have issues with just about everyone. Look at our "rivalries" and who we have issues with:

AFC East- it's a division

Baltimore- last year's game with after game comments
Pittsburgh- AFCCG's
Cincy- blowouts in Cincy
Cleveland- not that much but chippy play at the end of last year's game

Indy- obvious
Jax- Dirty play/ playoff games
Tenn- dirty play/ Rodney 2006
Houston- not much

SD- rivalry
Denver- we lose/ playoffs
KC- TB injury
Oakland- RM/"tuck rule"

The NFC is also issue filled.

There is the old saying- Both teams must think it's a rivalry for it to be a rivalry.

it's so true. Over the last few years the Pats have beaten everyone, and you don't realize until some random team pops up just how mad the fans still are about it. I'd add the Redskins as a perfect example of this; I didn't hear any fans down here (I live in DC) have a problem with us at all last year until we completely crushed them. Now we are public enemy #1 to them, while I couldn't give a shyte about them.

Yeah, my comment was a bit too harsh, I agree. It's just that a lot of the Steelers fans I've encountered are very arrogant. The other stuff was just immature shots ;)

I do have to say though, there's plenty of Pats fans that are just the same (even worse). They're insanely irritating to me, so I can see how they must infuriate other teams.

As a season ticket holder in a town with mostly transplants, I get used to fans of opposing teams innundating Cardinals games. By and large, it's mildly annoying.

Last year's Steelers game, though, was about as repulsive a group of fans at any sport I can ever recall. They were shameful and an embarrassment. I couldn't believe the crap I was seeing.

I must say that Steelers fans are pretty creepy. This is not the first time that I've seen a player/coach depicted as a saint or religious figure.

What is it about Pennsylvania sports fans?

Being a Cowboys fan, it's even worse enough having to put up with all these classless Eagles fans on a daily basis.

But Steelers fans behaving this way as well??

All Steeler fans aren't that dispictable. I, for one, think the tshirt is terrible and should be removed immediately. That being said, every fan base has it's 'wackos' and those fans who give the rest of us a bad name.

Personally, I'm sorry you've lost your starting quarterback for the year and hope he's back for 2009.

Likewise, as a Celtics fan I wouldn't consider the Pistons to be our "rivals." That may develop now, but it certainly wasn't the case just because the Pistons always won the East.

Some of ya'll have some pretty short memories.

Just thought I'd share this. Not all fans of other teams are dirt bags.

A note I received from someone on another board..not a football forum.

PatFanMary: "I find it especially disturbing to see many fans of other teams cheering his injury....the whole NFL is worse for losing a premier QB in his prime".

Mary, I think you misuse the label "fan" here. While many, including Steeler fans, of course, enjoy seeing the Patriots, and by extension, Brady, lose, no true fan ever wants to see a serious injury remove a key player from the game, let alone the season. I don't doubt that some in attendance at the games or calling in to sports talk shows may make some off the mark comments, but they are not "fans" in the sense that I like to use the word. But, for whatever it's worth, from this Steeler fan, I am truly sorry for Tom Brady's injury and pray for his full and rapid recovery.

He obviously got a letter from the league. Look at the disclaimer at the top (which is new), and the shirts he used to display with the name "Steelers" & the Steelers logo on it are gone.

Go to Google.com, put his web address in, click search, and then click on "cached" and you'll see the shirts he used to have that they obviously made him take down. - Ian

That's funny. Where do I sign up to pay $20 for a shirt that says "picksburgh stillers"?

That's probably still a trademark violation anyway. Even that one may be gone soon.
