SI cover: Brett the Jet
"Here’s the early rundown on Brett Favre’s career with the Jets:

One game. One victory. One Sports Illustrated cover.

That didn’t take long, did it?

Favre is featured on this week’s cover, a celebration pose from Sunday’s win in Miami. It’s the 10th cover appearance by Favre, according to the folks at SI.

The Jets are 1-0, Tom Brady is finished for the year and Favre is a cover boy. These are giddy times for Jets fans."

Damn I hope the Patriots crush those @$$holes IN THEIR HOUSE for their HOME OPENER.

The NY Jets media is sickening aren't they.

BTW, isn't there an SI cover curse? Why would the Jets fans be giddy that Favre is on the cover?

Yeah not longer at all.....amazing how the Jest are proposed to win the AFC now.....

We NEED to win sunday....this is just more ammo.....

Yeah, and a Madden curse. They either cancel each other out or Favre will actually be killed on the field this year.

Who knows....this could be a very entertaining sunday....

Mangini's comment on NFL Network got me going just as well.

Mangini: "We felt like we had a shot to win the division even with the Patriots having Tom Brady"

What the hell has that guy been smoking?

That doesn't bother me. That is coach's speak. What is supposed to say? "yeah, I know my guys aren't talented enough to win this division if the Pats are at full strength." He is supposed to instill confidence in his team. I doubt he really believes it.

The Madden Curse is going to hit hard this weekend in the form of a Ty Seymour sandwich.

I still think that man is a snake.

I don't see why they'd be so "giddy".
Don't they remember the last time the starting QB
for the Patriots went down with a season ending season.
:D

Through all of this I mean T.V., radio, magazine, newspapers and internet. What's the one thing everyone except us Patriots fans seems to have completely dismissed and failed to even acknowledge?

THE PATRIOTS DEFENSE................NOBODY is even talking about what they can provide. It's been all about "they can't score 40 points a game". What the hell, the offense didn't win them the Super Bowl in 2001. All the offense was asked to do is not turn the ball over and keep the chains moving.

THe Jets won, but barely. Both Favre and Pennington tossed up air balls. Jets defender pick off Noodlearms, and Dophins defenders horribly misplayed Favre's Hail Mary.

I don't see that the game was such a key victory, but I guess the Jets latch onto what they can.

If Favre can beat the Pats D, then the Jests can brag.

Right now it is just silly.

Yes, took the words out of my mouth. However, they can only brag about beating a team without it's HOF QB. I think they'll be surprised on Sunday. I can see the headline now:

There's no storming this Cassel!

hey look at it this way, if we go down there and win then we not only beat them but we did it with a guy who has not started a game since high school playing qb. if we lose, well we have an excuse we have a qb who has not started since high school playing for the league mvp. we have a free pass if they lose and even more braggin rights if they win

I normally wouldn't do this, but they started it, so:

I hope Brett Favre gets carted off on Sunday and misses the rest of the season. **** you New York.

That's just trashy. No need to sink to their level.

I'd expect no less from Zoo York, but beware of karma Zoo Yorkers. You have a 39 year old gray beard behind center that is one hit away from the same fate.

Very true, I got to add that the Bills looked far better then them last week. They beat a far better team much more impressively.

I agree low blow dude and not necessary.

I would LOOOOVE to be a fly on the wall inside that Patriots locker room this week. Bruschi must be off the chart, Seymour, Rodney, Vrabel, Belichick.

Wow...

For what it's worth...Jet's fans pretty much despise the NY media more than you do. They are mostly lazy writers who care more for the headline than the story. Go ahead and beat on them like dogs but don't assume they represent the fan's view in any way.

Sorry if that takes some of the fun out of it. :)
