The fancy fans -- The red seat and lower-blue folks once again showed their colors. Some of these sections were only one-third filled as the Pats were trying to stave off the Chiefs on the final drive. Gillette = worst home-field advantage in the league.
..............

Good posting. Nice, balanced piece by Felger. Tough to disagree with any of it. And he is spot on that if Cassel plays like that all year, expect the Pats to make a deep playoff push.

the expensive seat he is right, there not there till the end..

Nice breakdown, actually.

Wow the douchebag actually had some good thoughts.

I completely agree with his take on blows below the knees. I hated it when it happened to Brady in the 2001 AFCCG, I hated it when it happened to Carson Palmer and I really hated it this past Sunday. He was talking about this on air on WEEI today and he said that if a player is on his ass he should have to get up to make a hit on the QB rather than diving at their knees. Knees are probably the weakest area of the body. Why should QB's be put in danger because players like Pollard get knocked on their asses and decide that diving at the people's knees is ok. It is stupid and reckless.

As much as a lot of people don't like him, he usually writes some really good columns.

He's in rehab, it's an up and down process, but he did 4 hours of therapy today with a real good sports writer who didn't sell out for ratings and every little bit helps.

Well, Felger pretends to be a girl on these actual forums. Can you sport her.. er... him?

Oh please! Give me a break. They don't report the truth! I told you all back in August the Brady was in Prov. getting an MRI at RI Hospital. The media know everything that is going on, all the gossip, all the cheating on spouses, the parties, all the players goings on. They never tell us really what they know.
Why was he blackballed by the Pat's anyway?

That piece is the Felger of old. When he first strarted at the Herald he gave objective analysis - some criticizing the Pats, some praising them. Then he turned to the Ron Borges School of Journalism to try to get rating on his ESPN show but everybody saw through it. Holley even called him out on it today on his show and said Felger made up arguments to boost his ratings. A point that Felger didn't deny. Now that being the contrarian didn't work so well for him, he's coming back around.

thats why they have the best home record in football, it cant be all that bad

its more to do with the team. even pats players have mentioned in the past about the crowd.

i agree. Nice piece from me too

He is pretty honest and positve... I know some are shocked, but at one time he was a good writer for the herald..

I heard him say some of this on FSN and I cringed. Why? Because I've been following the Boston sports scene since Lincoln was President, and Felger is wrong on his takes ALOT.

I almost wish he said the Pats would do poorly with Cassel, because his positive take makes me less certain of good things happening. I'm just being honest here.

Thanks for the link,I wouldn't have read this article if not for the recommendation, but is is good, and worth a read.
