Remember the days of old .... somehow PATs just manged to win all those
nail bitters ... 3point victories?
Maybe lately we got spoiled with the big win margins.

but ....

  • Pats have a history of winning the close ones
  • Bill Belichick shines when games are close
  • We have the Ghost ...
So bring on the white-knuckle games ...we are the Patriots!;)

Except for the first ten or so games last year, I am not sure we ever left the slight margins.
I am okay with that. Keeps the boys motivated.

As long as the final line says "W", I don't care if it was by 1 or 100. My blood pressure may not always agree, but any win feels pretty good on Monday (with the possible exception of this last one).

have thought of this as well
definitely makes sunday much more interesting now
no more sitting back and relaxing
definitely more on the edge of your seat viewing

If we want to be in the playoff and SB, we need to have 10+ point win margin.

We're back to one game at a time. As was pointed out, the margins for the playoff run last year were slim.

I don't know if Vegas has an over/under line for number of FG attempts by a kicker in a season, but if it does, I don't think taking the over for the Pats/Gostkowski would be a bad bet. And that could certainly be the difference in more than a game or two this season.

gotta admit
going back to one game at a time is kinda nice as a fan

Incorrect. If we want to be in the playoffs we need WINS not margin of victory. 12 wins by 3 pts each is just as valid as 12 wins by 20 pts.

I don't mind 3-7 point wins. It looks like games will be closer this year because we won't be blowing folks out. But in the end a W is a W. Right now I suppose I'm lowering my expectations to 11 wins and a Div Title or Wildcard.

I'm stocked up on Lipitour and I've ordered one of those home defribillators.

I should be good to go.

I'm not thinking SB, I'm not thinking streaks,I'm not thinking blowouts, I'm just thinking about a win this Sunday. Win by 1 or win by 100,2-0 and I'll be happy. HFA would be awesome but it's way too early to even think in those terms.

It's been awhile since I've watched a game with this mindset, and I'm kinda liking it already-it's like getting back to basics. Despite the schedule nothing's guaranteed.

It's going to be a heck of a ride. It's ALWAYS a ride when it comes to the Pats, but this will be a different kind...01ish...I'm already psyched for Game 2:D
