Why I think the Jets are screwed next week...

well iam excited to see what happens next week but lets wait and watch. we are playing a better jets team at their home opener with a better qb for them. if they pull of a win i will be mildly surprised.

Damn am I glad that Deltha caught Darling. I still don't know what the hell Merriweather or Sanders were doing on that play.

looks like sanders took a very poor angle. we cant have that from him

Is it Merwieather who just lets Darling run past him?

2 plays stand out though. Seymour's destruction of Johnson on 3rd and goal, and obviously O'Neal's perfect coverage of Bowe.

Where was Sanders going on the last long pass play? If he had been in position the Chiefs would have been nowhere near the endzone in the end.

O'Neil has brought back a needed spark to this D. He's gonna be a huge play maker this year.
Agree 100%.

I was not a Deltha fan, thought he went for INTs at the expense of team defense, and wasn't thrilled that BB signed him.

I am so happy to have been wrong :D

He is a valued asset. I heard him talk about how the D has to step up when the O needs a lift. Great stuff.

Plus I thought he was old, but man, he really cranked it on that run-down!

Worse than a bad angle. He over-ran the play before the ball was even caught! But Sanders strength is in run defense and hitting people, not in coverage. We knew that. Sometimes you have to accept a guy's weaknesses in order to utilize his strengths.

thats quote is somewhat unintentionally funny :)

I really don't know what you can take out of a defensive performance against the horrid Chiefs at home as opposed to playing a far superior team on the road, with a much much better quarterback, and far better receivers, basically a team that is much better equipped to take advantage of our cornerback situation, which is the weak-link on the defense.

exactly. chiefs dressed 3 WRś and had their backup QB and herm edwards as a coach. not exactly the perfect scenario we can see every week.

Not happening against our D:

Niiiice!! Deltha dawn, what's that flower you have on......I can't stop thinking of that song everytime I see his name:help:

I LOVE him here-he's smart, experienced, athletic, and he goes after the ball.

Our D will be stepping up this season-great mix of old and new too. Seymour's a beast,AD's a beast, and so is Vrabel. I've missed this underdog, scrappy, physical, firey smash attiude. Good stuff JS, thank you :)

I do have to agree that Cotchery TD was almost as lucky as the Tyree catch in the Super Bowl. Favre makes that same play against a good defense and it is picked or broken up 8 times out of 10.

Yawn. You a Jets fan?

The Chiefs had their back-up cuz AD knocked Croyle into the middle of next week.

What the Jets don't have is a QB that can actually make good decisions. He's got a big arm and a lot of luck. He didn't even know where that luck-pass was headed. I think our CB's will play deep and our front seven will be smacking Brett all day long.

If he's not sacked first. Also to the naysayers that say we played a weak team, the Jets played the Dolphins. The 15-1 Dolphins. Next week their playing the 16-0 Patriots. And those 16-0 Patriots are pissed. Our D is better than last year. Pretty hard to imagine Brett will be scoring all day on them when Peyton couldn't.
