This keeps getting weirder or weirder.

So apparently, after throwing two inexplicable interceptions, Vince Young went over to the bench to sulk and pushed Albert Haynesworth away from him. Then, he refused to take the field on the next series, citing a tight hamstring even though he didn't have the medical staff look at it.

Young went missing for over four hours last night after being "emotional" all day. Jeff Fisher raced around Nashville to track him down and had the police notified as well.

What's really weird is that the police called in special negotiators to the Titans facility. That sounds to me like he was threatening suicide or threatening Fisher's life.

For all the knocks on Cassel, at least he doesn't get "emotional" like this lol.

It says the special negotiators were placed on stand-by, not that they were at the facility.

Young can't take the pressure of a professional career, I saw a special on him and he said he almost retired after his first year. I think the special was on NFL network.

Well engotiators were involved in some way. I doubt they get the negotiators on standby every time someone goes missing for a few hours.

Yup, build from the trenches, draft the DE in the first and develop the day 2 QB or trade for someone elses...

WOW. What a shocking and strange turn of events. And an absolute waste of a valuable draft pick.

This is the lastest rumor:
VY goes nuts?

I strongly urge you to post the source for something like this. This is how #@%_@# like the "Tedy Bruschi/Terry Bradshaw is dead" rumors get started, and I don't want to see that #%@#% here.

The guy is a terrible QB and can't handle the pressure. He threw in INT to Derrick Harvey, then goes back to the bench and pouts.

I just think it's a good case study of why snap judgments on the NFL draft shouldn't be taken seriously. Everyone was dogging the Texans because they passed up Reggie Bush and the hoetown hero Vince Young. Now look what's happened: Bush is sessentially a third-down/change-of-pace back and Vince Young can't handle the spotlight. Combien numbers and how one plays in college certainly matter, but a good personnel staff really needs to do due dilligence with how a player translates to the NFL/a specific system as well as mental/emotional aptitude for the stresses of the game.

Yup. And when you say "everyone", it definitely includes the misinformed media...yet another stellar example of how they talk and talk and talk and talk and absolutely NOTHING of any value is said. I remember hearing the media praise Bush as the best player to be drafted in years and for years to come. The guy hadn't played one down.

Sports media: where intelligence goes to die.

Did you see Reggie Bush on Sunday?

John Clayton's talking about it right now. Vince's emotional health is of great concern to the Titans at this point, for obvious reasons. Fans booing him, etc. Clayton opined that Vince handled this situation in a rather immature manner " compared to other QB's".

Physically-they're still awaiting more test results.

Wow. It does sound as though he lost it. Poor guy.

Lesson in advance here. Moronic Pats fans should cut Cassel some slack when he makes some initial bad decisions. No sense adding to the intense pressure right off the bat.

Does anyone know if the "wonderlick" test infers this type of mental state?

Personally, I thought he was really held back by lousy receivers last year. He is not a Marino but would have been much better if he had some weapons. This year he looks like a basketcase.

found this interesting article searching for info on Vince Young's fragile mental state.

yikes!

there's something wrong with that guy.

I’m not exactly sure what Vince Young was doing. He was partying but it doesn’t look like a very enjoyable party.

Matt Leinart’s party pictures got him in some trouble with his team. Will these Vince Young pictures get the Titans’ star quarterback in trouble? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Surely, the Titans coaches can’t be excited by what they see.

And while Leinart got criticized, at least he had females at his party. There are no chicks visible in Vince Young’s party — not that there is anything wrong with that, of course.

This may or may not make you think twice about picking Vince Young to quarterback your fantasy football team in 2008.

Did you see Reggie Bush on Sunday?

Did you see Mario Williams? Yeah, the only guy that did a damn thing on that Texans defense. Give me the defensive end over the halfback any day.

Is he now the best player in the league, maybe ever?

I'm sorry, did I say that? Nope. I just said he had a good outing is all. I hate Reggie Bush but I have to give the guy credit as he looked pretty good in Week 1.

Again, not saying that I'd take one over the other. I'm just seeing everyone and their mother calling Reggie Bush a bust. He didn't look like much of a bust his rookie year and he didn't look like much of a bust in Week 1 either.
