There's plenty of negatively hovering around our region and for good reason. We've been spoiled rotten by 7 years of one of the greatest ever to play the game leading the team. The prospect of a full year without hunky Tom B leading the offensive attack is daunting, if not disheartening following last year's game that shall not be named.

Nevertheless, I'm disappointed by how quickly some fans have given up on this year (if you doubt that, look at how quickly the season ticket message board has filled up). This team established its greatness by spitting in the face of long odds, starting with the first game that Brady took the field. Now I do not have the utmost confidence in Cassell. I have my doubts that this team is more than a fringe playoff contender without Brady, but I will stand behind this team and its quarterback every moment as this season plays itself out, and I will be damn proud when this team makes the playoffs.

Anyone with me, make make yourself heard!

You can bet that I will be watching AND ROOTING for that pats come Sunday afternoon. I'd love to see them spank the Jets and put this whole "this team is nothing without Brady" to sleep.

I have faith in the Pats as a TEAM. No one player makes a TEAM. This TEAM can still get it done with the best of them!!!

As a charter member of the bandwagon........I aint going anywhere.

i like the footballs. Footballs makes me happy. Peanut Butter sandwiches are pretty good at doing that too.

I hadn't considered that more people might be giving up tickets for games... I'm going to be all over that! [Hurries off to check the schedule]

I can survive **** Macpherson, I can survive this. Please!!

Even without Brady, the Pats are a good team that is capable of making some noise in the playoffs. I look forward to watching the rest of the season.

Here......

I'll be a Pats fan when Tom is gone too!

Reporting in!

Typically when things are going well for the team, I tend to focus more on where they can improve - when things aren't looking quite as good I tend to be an optimist, focusing on areas of strength.

There's still a lot of areas of strength on this team and believe it or not, I'm really "pumped and jacked" to see what this team can do, and how they can pull together, improve and adopt the age-old proven approach of the underdog overachieving.

Sure the OL and D have unanswered questions. But I'd not be the least bit surprised to see them all pull together and get behind Cassell or any backup QB.

And with decent OL protection, having Moss, Welker, Gaffney and our RBs makes an average QB above average.

If anyone thinks that having an average QB isn't good enough to win the Super Bowl, just go back and look at a few of the QBs that have Super Bowl rings and tell me its not possible.

Doug Williams? Brad Johnson? Mark Rypien? Trent Dilfer? These were not the best QBs in the league - but their team was the best when it mattered most.

This might not be an undefeated season, but it's still going to be interesting and exciting each week.

I'm not going anywhere, here all season.

To quote Yogi Berra, "It ain't over til it's over". And this season is far from over.

yeah,

I've seen it all since 1972. I have no fear for our team, because it is a TEAM.

Tom's down. Got it. Time for everyone else to cowboy up. Would we be all a cryin' and gnashing our teeth if Warren or Wilfork or Vrable went down? NO!

Things will work out just ducky. We all saw this same scenario in 2001.

We have a pretty doggone good QB in Cassell. He's at least as good as Dilfer, and HE got the Bucs to a SB title.

Chill out. Have a shot of Cuervo Black or two and enjoy the games.

Buckle up yer chinstraps, boyz. 'cause it's gonna be a fun ride for the next 16 weeks :)

I have never given up on the Pats. Don't plan on it either.

Agree with you in that I will always be a FAN of the NE Patriots!!!........Of course EVERY year it is a team effort that breeds success.....however, this year more than any before.....this team will need 200% effort out of EVERYONE.......Starting with the Offensive line......If they play their usual inconsistent and frequently sloppy games out there.....taking few plays off.....going halfa$$ here and there....we will continue to have NO Running game.....and Cassel will get killed (Wait a minute....:)...no....they are going to go with Matt so we need him to stay healthy).......Every player on this team needs to go balls to the wall the entire game.....every game.......

I will be watching every game....win or lose.......GO PATS!! Heal fast Tom!!

and I'll be damn proud when they hoist the Lombardi.

A regional attachment, combined with a soft spot for outcast-underdogs, is what hooked me in '85. The circumstances of the past year-plus-change may not do much for the stomach, but hell if these aren't "my" Patriots again! :)
