The competitive fire isn't going out with Brady going down. Its growing to a huge crescendo. One that should cause other teams to be VERY SCARED of playing the Patriots.

Going forwards, I am thinking we are going to see the toughest, hardnosed football we've ever seen this team play. I believe we are going to see an intensity out of the players that we would never have expected. I think that the intensity is going to be unparalleled in football history, never mind Patriots history.

The league has sent a clear message regarding the hit on Brady. So the team will need to send a message back. And I believe that they will. And they will do their talking on the field.

I am looking forward to watching the Patriots the rest of this year because its going to be one helluva ride and I am going to enjoy every minute of it.

Along those very lines, folks will note that 'something happened' to KC's QB, didn't it?

I can't recall the words verbatim, but I thought BB made his opinion of the 'cleanness' of the hit known when he compared it to the Wilfork play.

Edit: found it

Q: After reviewing the play [of Tom Brady's injury] do you think the play was dirty?

BB: It doesn't really matter what I think. The officials officate the game. I am sure they will handle it. We have always taught our players that it is their responsibility to hit the quarterback above the knees and below the shoulders. If you look at the Vince Wilfork play from last year against Buffalo, it is not the same but there are some similiarities.

yeah i could see the pats being out for blood the rest of the way

hope my team survives that

Last year we ran up the score, this year we'll beat the sh!t out of every other team.

Have to agree with the thread starter.

There are some vocal passionate guys in that locker room, and by God next Sunday are they going to have that team ready to go out and crush all comers. Not just the Jets, but anyone.

Guys like Big Vince, Sey, Tedy, Vrabes, and especially Rodney Harrison aren't going to let this team feel sorry for itself and allow us to piss away any chance of the Playoffs.

I think we're going to see old-skool Patriot performances in the next few weeks, guys playing D like their lives depend on it.

i cannot wait for the rest of this season...man ohh man i cannot wait

Some how I suspect they are doing this.
These are the New England Patriots.
Not the New England Tom Bradys.

I agree...and I LOVE that that is happening...so these teams will take the Pats lightly?? They are going to punish these teams..so watch OUT!!! I LOVE IT!!

It's good spirit. Make it happen. We will defeat our opponent on the scoring board and the field.

I really miss the old 3 RB sets ... I hope Belichick brings it out once in a while. Maroney, Morris and Jordan .... Pow!

Seriously ... Maroney would make a great tail-back.

Amen OP, you summed it up perfectly! I think the Jets game this sunday will show what the team is made of.

Yes -- absolutely. Let's go, Matt!

I agree the Pats are gonna get very physical and will see the defense get more aggressive. I am glad we (re)loaded up on defense in the draft. I could see Crable getting a larger role.

I agree excellent post. Its what I wished I had posted but didn't in another thread.

I've got to say, I'm REALLY intersted to see what happens from hereon out.

Sure the OL and D have unanswered questions. But I'd not be the least bit surprised to see them all pull together and get behind Cassell or any backup QB.

And with decent OL protection, having Moss, Welker, Gaffney and our RBs makes an average QB above average.

If anyone thinks that having an average QB isn't good enough to win the Super Bowl, just go back and look at a few of the QBs that have Super Bowl rings and tell me its not possible.

Doug Williams? Brad Johnson? Mark Rypien? Trent Dilfer? These were not the best QBs in the league - but their team was the best when it mattered most.

We'll see this team gel and unite like never before. As someone said prior, this TEAM will not allow feeling sorry for itself. If you noticed yesterday, one of the first guys to start jumping, yelling and congratualating Cassel was none other than Randy Moss - THE Randy Moss (he of the bad attitude, self centered, etc.). We have a lot of veterans on this team that have never let adversity conquer them. There's no reason to beleive they'll let adversity defeat them now. Harrison, Bruschi, Vrabel, Thomas, Seymour, Wilfork, Moss, Welker, Maroney, Faulk, Belichick, Pepper Johnson, Pees, Kraftet all - they won't let this team down. The fans need to come out full force - be loud be proud, we're Patriot Nation goddammit.

Remember, most of us were Pats fans before Tom and will also be so after. As a founding member of the Brady's Ladies camp I hate to see him out but I am "jacked and pumped" to watch Pats vs "The Evil Empire" next Sunday.

Here's a hint. Think "Braveheart".
