Yeah it sucks that we are not going 16-0, 15-1, 14-2, or even 13-3, but at least no matter what the games are going to mean something. It's going be fun to have the us vs. the world attitude once again.

Next week will be a lot of fun. The Jets are already marking it down as a W. I think we'll win on hatred and adrenaline alone.

After that, who knows. It's week to week now.

This is what I've been saying. There's so many bandwagon/spoiled baby Pats fans, this will either thin the ranks or make them appreciate the team more. Now maybe we won't piss and moan after "only" winning by 14. Maybe now people will appreciate every win. Who knows, maybe Maroney will become a running monster, maybe Moss will become a team leader, maybe the D will step up and be smothering. It sucks Brady's out, yes, but maybe this will instill more appreciation into a decadent fanbase.

The Jets are extremely overrated. They barely squeaked by a Miami Team that almost went win-less last year.

The Pats play the weakest schedule in the NFL. They will be fine, even with a back up quarterback.

It PROBABLY will be fun. If the team rallies around this, plays good defense, runs hard, etc, then it will fun and should be between a 7 and 10 win team. There's a small chance the team will quit without Brady and that will suck - I don't see that happening but it's not impossible.

Finally, we're on the same page as the team, hehe.

I agree and each game will have so much anticipation

This could also heighten the bandwagon base, if Cassel does well and we continue to win like I think we will, everyone will be a Cassel fanatic

I admit. I admit. I admit.

It's the kind of fun I prayed against having, but now that it's here, let's party like it's 1999!

Sean :)

P.s., when we Catholics fall, we fall hard.

Well it will be nice not having to win by 40 points every week or else risk people questioning if the team is slumping.

This is not fun for me.. If the Pats were just a good team, maybe I could see it as fun.. but not now.. This is a year of my life I'll never get back

No. Fun for me is when they're winning big. Now its going to be hours of nervous tension.

I have to admit that there's a part of me that kind of thinks it will be fun too. Obviously I would vastly prefer it if Tom were at the helm, but at the same time we've gotten so used to seeing this team dominate, and so much of that come through Brady, that at the very least it will add an interesting dynamic to the season.

I try to remember that this is just a game, so it's pointless to feel sorry for ourselves for being deprived of Tom Brady for a year. I do feel sorry for Brady, for losing a year out of his brilliant career, but I'm not going to enjoy the New England Patriots playing football any less this year, I don't know about you.

I think that KC game had me on the edge of my seat more than any other Pats game in the past year, Superbowl and Baltimore game withstanding. It's not good, but it could be an exciting year, the Pats are still an awesome team even without Brady, I don't buy the "season is a total loss and life sucks" crap.

Go Matt! Go Pats!

+1 on the Brady sentiments. You have to feel for a guy who works that hard. And it was pretty clear he was in perfect form pre-injury as well. :(

I think this season will be enjoyable if Cassel continues to play reasonably well. If he starts to suck sweaty balls, then it could become depressing real fast.

So I am gooing to be shamelessly optimistic and hope that our 2009 season starts out with a Brady - Cassel QB controversy.

Amen to that. What was fun was watching the Pats utterly destroy quality NFL teams, totally demoralizing them after pounding them into dust.

This will be intense, as the Pats will have to slug it out week after week now. I love this team and am behind them 100%. My expectations about end results are a little different (I thought they were a 13-win team before, and now I think they're probably no more than a 10-win team), but my expectations about the character, toughness, and effort of this bunch is still off the charts.

Put it this way: No way on earth that Belichick lets them wallow in their misery. He's gonna ride them hard to show the world that they are not a one-man team.

Yes it is going to be fun....we will have a lot of motivation each game to go for it all on 3rd and long and just go all out.....no one expects us to do well this season so lets just all go out and kick ass!!

Fun is probably not the word I'd use. Interesting is probably a better word for me. I'll definitely be rooting hard.

I personally can't wait to see how the team performs. Every game will be exciting.

I remember we wanted to play the colts 2 times a year cause they sucked more than we did...

1 win season anyone....

Bishops first pass..Oh the promise!!!

Its football, and I'm a pats fan...BRING ON THE JESTERS!!!!

No, it won't be fun. Not at all.

This will be like torture.

I've sat through every kind of Patriot season except one.

The kind of season in which the Patriots' offense blew the doors off everyone and then won the Super Bowl. That was fun. And I was hoping to have that same fun this year.

The torture will be watching teams celebrate our loss of Brady, even if we win more than our share over the next 3 months or 4 months.
