I have nothing against Brady fans. He is an amazing quarterback. I am a Favre fan, and rooted for the Packers simply because I liked him. So, nothing against people that root for a team because they were attracted to one player.

I am a Patriots fan, though. I have cheered through the darkest years, and will continue to cheer them through this one, no matter how light or dark it is.

If you were a Farvre fan who rooted for the Packers simply because you liked him, how could you have also been a Pats fan who cheered through the darkest years (or do you consider those 2005-present...)?

I'm a fan of both the Patriots and Tom Brady and Matt Cassel and every other player who wears the uiform. I cheer for the laundry as well as the guys who wear it... I've never understood you either or fans...

Pats fan first (grew up in this area), but also a huge Brady fan. I was - and am - a huge Bledsoe fan, and it didn't take too long for me to embrace Brady b/c the team does come first.

But that doesn't mean I'm not extremely bummed about the prospect of having to wait another ~360 days to see Tom Brady throw another pass in an NFL game. My thoughts are summed up here:

Grogan Eason and the rest.. Look we lost Rodney , Tedy , Matt Light, in 05 and we survived.. Brady was the key, we are all Patriots fans, its just our expectations have to be tempered a bit..

Michigan fan first and thus, Brady. Became a Pats fan after that. I know I'm in the minority but that's how I "arrived"

I was A Patriots' fan long before Tom Brady was born.Tom Brady is the best thing that ever happened to this franchise but Players come and Players go,Tom Brady is a legend and he brought Us to the Promised Land but I'm a Team Guy first, last, and forever.

Definitely a Patriots fan. I like Brady and all, but if was on another team I would not root for him, just like I don't root for Adam V.

The only player I am a fan of in the NFL is Chad Ocho Cinco. I don't care what team he plays for I will always root for him unless he is playing against the Pats.

Patriots fan, but Brady has become so intertwined with that for me in the last several years.

It hurts. I named my son after him, for cripes sake.

It just hurts.

Patriot's fan first and foremost.....look at my name!!!;)

Love football, not for the stars, although some are better than others, but because it is the ultimate TEAM sport.

Never forgot the beginning of SB 36, when the Patriots were introduced
AS A TEAM , no other team had done that up to that point. The networks didn't know what to do, the stadium announcer didn't know what to do......
This year the league won't know what to do......

Look out NFL, the Patriot's just got a huge chip on their collective shoulders......

At least, you are honest. The question is "Will you remain a Patriot fan after Brady or will you follow another Michigan player?

Pats fan first, however, there IS a reason I named my son Brady two years ago... (It was between Brady and Troy. Brady won out.)

I think everyone has their heirarchy of teams / players they like, unless you like only the Patriots. That would be sort of ... strange. It was easy to be a Favre fan, as the Packers rarely played the Pats.

If you are a fan of the uniform then you are a Patriots fan, not a Brady fan. If he left to go to another team, you would remain a Pats fan. Same here, but there are a lot of people out there that are not Patriots fans that will lose interest now. They are in it for the Brady. That is fine too.

They weren't bandwagoners, but fans of the person, not the team. Just like me and Favre, who is fun to watch (if you don't agree with that then you are not a football fan). I am a football fan above all else. If the Patriots were dissolved or moved to another city I would still like football.

My point is, right now we are finding out who the real Patriots fans are, as opposed to the Brady fans.

That sums it up so well. It gave my eye a tear.

You missed a 'Both' option, which I would have voted for...

It's o.k. to like them both, no need to get all extreme....

I considered that, but worded it 'primarily' one or the other. Most people don't have exact equal weighting.

Obviously a Pats fan will be a Brady fan, but if Brady left would you still be a Pats fan? Some people instantly lose interest in the Pats once he is gone (there is at least one thread talking about this). They are the Brady fans.

Man I like Tom Brady but I was a Pats fan before he was even playing in high school and I'll be a fan long after he's retired and making his HOF acceptance speech.
I love football. We have a good solid team and I can't wait to play the ****bag Jets this sunday!!!! **** happens and now we have to deal with it.
Football is a great game.

Too bad the Pats don't play in Boston anymore.

Boston Bradys, that has a nice ring to it.:p
