- We have a great WR (Moss) and a very good situational WR and return man (Welker)
- I don't like our RBs
- We have a good TE (Watson)
- Our QB is unproven and his only memorable appearance was getting a quick hook after nearly blowing a big lead against Miami last year when spelling Brady
- We have an Oline that seems to be getting weaker (wasted in Super Bowl, allowed season ending hit on Brady)
- We have an aging defense that let them down big time in the Super Bowl and AFC Championship 2 years ago
- Our kicking games are adequate, but nothing special
- We have excellent coaches however they are targets for the league and media

Oh well, at least we have the Red Sox and Celtics.

Wow, thanks for this insight. It was helpful. I think we should cancel the rest of the season, forfeit all the games.

Who's for canasta?

Its gonna be fun to sit here and watch you get trashed thanks for the distraction

Why don't you add...

- It's only September.
- The Pats are still 1-0

...before you throw in the towel. Sheesh.

I'd like to welcome you back with a BIG F'YOU!

Gosh, I had that same thought when Drew Beldsoe went out hurt........exact same thought. Not that I think Cassel (or anyone else) will be close to Brady, but I feel our season is not done by any means.

WRs are good, agree with you there...

Yeah... 5.1 yards/carry for Morris and 5.3 for Maroney is AWFUL, huh?

Don't forget Thomas who showed some good hands. TE depth is decent.

Actually, now I think Cassel's memorable moment is taking over for the reigning MVP and winning the game with a 116 QB rating... that's just me though.

The O-Line did NOT allow the Brady injury... the guy who hit him was crawling on the ground with the RB on his back. It was fluke, possibly a little bit dirty, not the O-Line's fault.

An aging defense... that almost won the Super Bowl the last two years... and added a bunch of youth. So what does that make them this year? Oh yeah, younger and more athletic.

Our kick coverage needs a little work, but we got pretty good special teams all around yesterday aside from the Slater fumble.

Seriously, I'll accept the complaint that Cassel is not Brady, but everything else you said is nit-picky.

lol I don't think we're done for and will still end up with a respectable record. That said, I would like see someone else returning punts instead of O'neal.

Just the facts Jack. Wish they were different but all the wishing in the world won't change things.

If you call yourself a fan, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Champions overcome adversity.... In '01, they were a 5-11 team (in 2000) with a QB making his initial start after Bledsoe got hurt. In '03 and '04 the secondary (after injury) had rookies and guys off the street. They overcame it then and I'm confident that they are still in the mix to win it now. Are they the favorites? No but let's see what all 53 guys do in the next few weeks. Look at history recent and back of teams that have had to have a backup QB step in. Earl Morrall, Brady, Warner have stepped in and delivered. Will Cassell replace a healthy Brady? No but if he can produce and mange games, this team is talented enough to win. Look around the league. Indy's o-line is a shambles and it affects their entire offense. SD is formidable but Merriman is one hit away from IR and Norv is still their coach.
I'm not necessarily drinking the Kool-Aid but I'm not ready to write off the season. Cassel has more experience better receivers, better RBs and a better Oline than in '01. He should be fine. Remember the first Lombardi was won as much by defense and special teams as by Brady....

The old riff-raff is back I see

The guy was frikin blocked and crawled on the ground with a 2nd effort...Morris absolutely mauled him.....OLine had nothing to do with it...did you even watch the game??

Don't even bother to make any sense of this guy's posts. Click on Search and you'll see his brilliant posts from last year.

The Colts got crushed, CRUSHED!, at their new home opener by the Orton-led Bears.

The almighty Bolts lost, at home, to the mediocre Panthers.

The Jets struggled to beat Miami.

The Jags lost to a Titans team that lost VY.

Yes, the Pats are in deep trouble now and the Steelers have become my pick to win the AFC. That said, if Cassel avoids bad decisions, this team can still go deep into the playoffs.

The only one I'm down on is Hobbs. He needs to be taken out of Red Zone defenses.

Being a fan should never be confused with being honest. As of now we're officially a rebuilding team. We have holes all over the defense, we need a real RB and we may need a QB depending on Brady's rehab. But just like when I called it 2 years ago Maroney wasn't the quality RB we need and had to be replaced, I received a ton of grief. But now of course everyone realizes this and the coaches are clearly trying to upgrade. So fine vent on me all you cuz u don't like what I say. But don't confuse that with "fan" status. If calling out a team our player for lacking meant you're not a supporter, then every coach in the league at one time or another doesn't support their team. Think about it

I see another of the resident trolls has decided to come out from under the bridge......

I'm reminded of the Ravens teams and how they managed to compete with a *****y QB, less firepower on offense, but stout defenses.

If Brady is indeed lost for the season, the Pats having signed Jordan whereby the RB by committee is now Maroney, Sammy, Jordan and Faulk with all getting their share of carries and receptions especially when the weather turns cold and foul, might turn out to be the best move BB made in the offseason.

These are not facts, but your opinion. In the immortal and profound words of Fitzy,

GFY

It's gonna be a pretty good season, despite all the chicken littles running around. Time to Cowboy up and support the team, or change your TV over to Lifetime for all the sensitive programming.

You know, I often wonder why Boston sports fans get such a bad press in your country, I see themcriticised on various different shows and by various different articles. Even one of the Brit guys on TV over here often lays into Pats fans.

Then I see posts like the initial one in this thread, and everything becomes clearer.

good now shut the hell up and jump off the bandwagon.

While you are at it, you can quit making these idiotic threads so we can talk about this season and not have to read your bull****.
