I have alot of confidence in Randy and his leadership abilities, I think the guy will help to get this team back focussed on football and forget about Brady, turn on the tunnel vision for winning. Its not a nice thing to say that we should forget about Brady, but brooding over his loss will only cost us. I think Randy is now the undisputed leader and captain of this offense and he'll start flexing some leadership muscles starting today. Theres alot of bulletin board material right now for him to utilize since now according to all the "pundits" we're apparently favorites to be third in the AFC East.

The problem though with having the best player on your offense be a WR is that it's not easy to get him the ball. You can't just hand it to him such as in the case of a running back.

As I said yesterday, I think Cassell will have the chance to hit a few deep passes to Moss because everything will be jammed up close to the LOS. I think the Jets have enough confidence in Revis to let him go one on one a few times. Now that's awfully risky on their part, but it frees up people to harass Welker or blitz. If Cassell can get one deep to Moss early on, like he did yesterday, he'll make life a heckuva lot easier on himself as the season progresses.

I do hope Randy stays focused.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Randy, but that thought occurred to me as well. If there is one thing that could distract him, or cause tension for any of the players in the locker room, it was this.

I'm not saying that the offense won't miss a beat, obviously they will but I'm saying Randy is now the leader of the unit and he's going to have to help everyone stay focussed more than he had to previously

I think Moss will be fine. I know Brady was his reason for coming to this organization but I think now he is just appreciative of everyone else apart of it. His PC showed me that he is willing to help Cassel out and help the team win in anyway that he can. i wouldn't start giving up on him yet (not saying you are).

I don't know. I'm a little worried about Randy. He loves TB so much. I hope he doesn't see Cassel as a repeat of what he was saddled with in Oakland and start to fall off. It is really important that he becomes the leader you speak of in order for the team to be successful. He hasn't had to do that here, but now he will have to. Here's to hoping he's up for the challenge.

WTF.

Cassel is now the leader of the unit. The QB leads the offense. This is football 101. If Randy is smart, he'll do everything he can to support Cassel and make sure the team rallies around his leadership.

It's Cassel time, for better or for worse. On the bright side, it's Cassel's contract year, so he has an opportunity here to become a star in the NFL. Hopefully he will step up. I was pleasantly surprised by how he looked against KC and I hope it will only get better form there as he improves and gets more comfortable at game speed.

Is it me, or did Moss seem down on Cassell after the game?

I think this will be a year to be a real test of what Moss is made of. This team will need his help much more to carry this team. He is going to have to be patient with Cassel. He is going to have to take more of a leadership role (although he wasn't voted captain for a reason). If he succeeds, no one can ever question what he is made of.

That said, he is still just one man out 53 players. Others need to step up just as much.

I think Randy Moss will flip the switch and be a leader for the offense. I think he will work hard with Matt. I would love to see Randy shine again this year. These guys need to rally around each other and each do their job.

I hear we are now underdogs against the Jets next week. Some of our greatest games , we went into as underdogs. It makes the win even sweeter.

Call me a pessimist but I don't think that Moss is going to emerge as the leader that everyone is hoping for. Moss and Brady work so well because Moss has an immense amount of respect for Brady. I don't think we can say the same about Moss and Cassel. I really hope that I am wrong but Randy's history with other QB's isn't something that should be just glossed over.

I do think that the locker room will try to keep Moss in check but I can see that backfiring. I believe that Brady will need to be in the background to keep Moss calm and focused.

I am certainly not jumping off of the team although I do think that Faulk and Light will need to increase their leadership roles. Cassel needs to command respect from Moss and that is going to be tough to do if he can't get him involved early and often in games.

What do you call that 51-yard pass play in the first quarter?

Let us not forget: Moss is the straw that stirs the drink.

Before his arrival, Brady was a very good QB. Randy showed up and he obliterated records and became the best QB in the NFL.

Remember, this is the same WR who made Jeff George, Randal Cunningham and Dante Culpepper into All Pros.

I think he can help make Cassel look like an average to above-average QB.

That was one game, I am talking more along the lines of the entire season. Can't really base anything off of one play in the first game of the season now can we?

No. However it does give us hope and even confidence that Cassel can in fact do well in place of Brady. Of course I don't expect Cassel to be Brady. He'll never be that. However I do want to see Cassel do the best he can for the team and help win games. :D

Was I right or was I right? During the game this week I kept seeing Randy on the sidelines waving his arms to pump up the crowd while the D was on the field, I'm so happy Randy has 100% bought into being a Patriot, yeah he came for the ring and to play with Brady but he didn't back down when things got rough he's still in it to win it baby!!!
