I shared this sentiment yesterday, but seemingly, things are only getting worse on this board. There is a lot of doom and gloom on the board about how the Pats will fare without Tom Brady, and as a result, there is a lot of reactionary speculation that they will be able to win the SB without him. I don't expect people to avoid talking about how this team will fare without Brady, of course not, but I think some fans are missing out on a key point...
As I said yesterday, this [this being a potential season ending injury for #12] goes beyond that. If Tom Brady is truly out for the season, and if we learn that information today, we should a) feel for Tom Brady, who is as hard working as any player, and has delivered us sporting memories beyond our wildest dreams - Tom would've only played 15 plays this entire season, and I'm sure that doesn't sit well with him b) feel robbed of one season of the brilliance and greatness which we have had the amazing fortune of witnessing this decade. An NFL career is a short life, and assuming Brady has 5 or 6 years left, he [and we as Patriot fans] was robbed of somewhere between 15-20% of that remainder yesterday.
Please keep that thought in mind whether you think the Pats are going to go 4-12 or 12-4.
