Riiight, and the Chiefs are anywhere as good as Carolina. Not even close. Even without Smith, the Panthers are a much better team than KC. Oh, and Cassel? Is this the same Cassel that nearly your entire fanbase on this forum has wanted off the team and hung up to dry, the entire offseason? The same Cassell that you wanted replaced by rookie O'Connell? But now he's going to take you to the playoffs....hmm. If he plays like he did today, he might. But some of the fans on this forum should be kissing his butt right now, since he saved the game for you.
Please. The Panthers are garbage. Don't try to play it off any other way. You're embarrassing yourself.

A lot of people on here thought Cassel sucked, that's true. I wasn't one of them. So what's your point? The people on these team message boards don't know jack about football, and today's game proved it. He has been on our roster all these years for a reason.

Fact is, we won today, without Brady. Cassel will only get better as he gets more playing time and more reps in practice. If he can keep turnovers to a minimum and throw a few touchdowns, we will be in the playoffs.

Crap teams or not, a win is a win. I'm sure your Chargers would agree with that today.

It must be karma. A few weeks ago, I was disgusted with all the Patriot fans who were so happy to see Shawne Merriman have the two knee ligament tears and be faced with sitting out the season. And now, first quarter of the first game, against the worst team in the NFL, you lose your leader to a major knee injury. Wow. Karma, baby.

Personally, I find it sad when a team loses one of their stars. I like to watch the best play the best each week. Matt Cassell vs. Damon Huard? That is hardly worth a $200 ticket to watch.

Now the Patriot fans must resort to taking joy in a Charger loss. I did not know you were that concerned with them to start with. You have beaten them three straight times!

umm...which pats fan were those? i certainly didnt see that

For starters, I was mildly surprised that Carolina won, at San Diego. What a thrilling finish. Then again, I did pick Carolina to go to the playoffs.

Secondly, to the Chargers fan referring to karma in relation to posts here concerning Shawn Merriman...what the heck are ranting about? The only posts I recall were valid criticisms of Merriman's boneheaded decision to risk his career and livelihood and play with such an injury. Regardless, you shouldn't revel in Brady's injury. It is a shame he went down, as he was IMO on his way to another good season to further cement his HOF status...something Merriman may never attain.

I will try to find the posts and reference them. It was not the whole thread, it was only a handful. And there were many classy Pat's fans who said they felt bad for Merriman.

On a side note, my 13 son is devestated because he has Brady on his fantasy team.

You might want to reconsider that quote. He is 24 years old and perhaps the best LB since Lawrence Taylor. He played well today considering his situation.

What does that mean? It's just interesting NE fans find it funny a team lost. Do you think you'll have an undefeated season now? I'lll be sure to start a thread of how "funny" it is when NE loses a game. Batten down the hatches if Indy loses tonight. You guys might just be rolling in the aisles. For a team that just lost their QB and number 1 player, you've got better things to talk about....and worry about.

I'm a Cowboys fan...

2 years ago when Parcells ditched us and Jones was forced to hire a coach in a short window, it came down to Wade and Norv. I can honestly say when ESPN broke the news that Wade was hired one morning, I just BREATHED A SIGH OF RELIEF.

Say all you want how Norv was unfortunate to coach old teams with meddling owners, but MANY times during his Skins tenure, he snatched defeat from the hands of victory...MANY times.

So you have him, and now you're going to have to accept it.

I'm not in much of a laughing mood today.

However, indeed a great and satisfying ending to this game today.

I'd have to say the LAST person I'd blame for our loss today would be the coach. If you saw the whole game, it would be very obvious why we lost.
