This is so ridiculously depressing.

Just two games ago Brady was on the verge of leading his team to the greatest season in NFL history cementing his legacy even further and becoming just the third QB with 4 Super Bowl championships, at the age of 31.

First game, loses. Becomes forever affiliated with the biggest Super Bowl disappointment since the merger and is forever mocked with chants of 18-1 and "We're only going to score 17 points?"

Next game? A game most considered a warm up for our season of redemption and Brady is knocked out for the entire season. The always smiling, astoundingly kind and always respectable QB coming off a MVP season knocked out for a entire year during the prime of his career.

I'm almost on the verge of tears here, this is absolutely horrible. A man follows up a 50TD season with a 0TD season due to injury. Many fans hopes have gone from Super Bowl redemption to possibly squeaking in the playoffs.

For the love of God I'm praying for Cassel, I really am. But right now I must deal with the fact the greatest player this franchise will EVER have is now going to be out for an entire year during one of the prime years of his career coming off his best season of all-time. This is worst then losing the Super Bowl last year, this is worst then the '86 Sox. This is just devastating.

Allow me to go lay in my own sorrow in bed now. Goodnight.

Re: I am completely devastated.

Do not give in to negative waves...remember...if Eli Manning can win a Superbowl anyone can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: I am completely devastated.

I'll make you feel worse - the SB loss ****ed us this year too as we'd have played on Thursday and this wouldn't have happened had we won the SB. I don't usually talk/think like that but your post put me in the mood :)

Re: I am completely devastated.

Sex will make you feel better about it. Honest. Go get ya some.

Re: I am completely devastated.

Look at it this way... every game where we fail to beat the opponents by 20 points or more will no longer be considered disappointing results.

Re: I am completely devastated.

The loss of Brady in one of his Prime yrs along with Moss is probably very upsetting the most.. The 2 had such a click, and for that short time I felt it happening again..

I dont hate Matt Casell, I just dont envy him.. He is our guy this yr, and we have to ride him

The super bowl loss and this is just alot to take in 1 yr..

Re: I am completely devastated.

I feel ya buddy. I'm still in shock myself. First Champ Bailey, then the Colts comeback, then Super Bowl 42, and now this. We Patriot fans have been kicked in the nuts quite a few times the last couple of years.

But it's only Week 1 and there's a lot of football still to be played. You never know what might happen.

Please don't get me started on all the possible things that could have been worse.

Re: I am completely devastated.

I was thinking about that earlier. This is more or less a year of his life that he's going to lose on the field. It just really irritates me that they kept him out during the preseason to prevent exactly what happened today. It's unreal....and I still can't believe it. And you're right, it doesn't help that next year Moss will be another year older.

Some people say im hearing it was because of the foot inj that limited his mobility.. Im sorry but you cant move from that hit.. :banned:

I completely empathize. :)

I wouldn't say that. I would say that they held him out to prevent him from aggravating his then-current injuries. This was a freak accident that could have happened at any time, healthy or no.

Re: I am completely devastated.

I dont recall any offical word from the patriots that he is out for the season.

Yup....neither have I....

Hell they even hooked up for 28-yards on the play Brady went down. =\

For some reason I had a weird feeling as soon as I saw Brady come out for the first drive today, like something bad was going to happen during the game. It's like, he looked like Tom Brady but at the same time didn't; maybe it was because I was still worried about his foot, I don't know. And then a few minutes later he got hurt.

Just... odd.

Oh come on, it's completely plastered all over the official NFL homepage, it's a done deal. Stop the denial, it's getting silly on here now. When has Adam ever been wrong? Please stop.

Who thought that during the wee-hours of Sunday night we'd be talking about signing god damn Chris Simms and Tim Rattay and our chances of winning the division. This is so surreal. I still can't believe it.

Instantly the worst moment as a New England sports fan for me. What scares me even more is how this effects Brady's future. We can possibly be facing the harsh reality that the last game of Tom Brady in true tip top form was the AFC Divisional Playoff game. Again, that's a huge assumption right there but certainly something that can't be completely ruled out. Next year he'll be a year older coming off a major knee surgery with a foot injury to boot and a lost year with Moss. I pray for you Brady, I pray.

Re: I am completely devastated.

I agree it's obviously a freak thing, but I do think that Belichick didn't push the issue to have him play in meaningless games to prevent him from getting severely injured as well. I'm sure the thought of this happening in a preseason game crossed his mind on more than one occasion, which we know is the case because he's kept Brady out completely in the final exhibition game in each of those years. For him to be kept out only to get hurt in game one is just really hard to believe. And it's definitely disappointing. - Ian
