The knee contains more pain receptors per square centimeter than most other parts of the body. More than the thumb, more than the forehead, more than the chest.

I don't know what injury Brady suffered; he could be back next Sunday, he could be done for the season. All I'm saying is this: injuries to the knee can hurt like hell, even if there's very little actual structural damage.

I'm still praying for a quick recovery from Brady, though. :) / :(

Good point, I am also somewhat optimistic by the fact that he walked off the field and was putting pretty good pressure on it. Usually you see guys get carted off for MCL or ACL tears.

Yup and sometimes complete tears will be a lot less painful than mild sprains.

Reminds me of how bad it looked when Pierce got hurt and carried off, only to be back moments later.

I have a question for a person with knowledge of sports medicine:

In the past, Brady has worn a brace on his left knee. If he had been wearing a brace today, what are the chances that this injury would be less severe or could have been prevented?

He didn't seem to be in much pain while the knew was being worked on in the field.

Lets be real here. Too many people are saying he's done. He's done. It's not good. Kiss the playoff's goodbye. Lets just hope the tean plays respectable ball for the rest of the season.

As I said in one of the other 50 threads about this, when I tore my ACL it was NOT PAINFUL, which leads me to believe it is something else.

That can actually be a bad sign. Typically, with serious injuries the body goes into shock and there is often less pain. A less severe injury, such as a partial ACL tear meanwhile can be excruciatingly painful (I'm speaking from experience here).

When I tore my ACL it was very painful and I certainly couldn't put any pressure on my leg to walk.

yupp. I was cursing out my coach in my head when he suggested I try to walk it off. That's why I am a bit optimistic that Brady would be back this season.

Lets pray this is the ultimate B.B. gotcha.
