Ironic, isn't it. Our team suffered the biggest loss of the weekend.
I can't even enjoy those losses. :(

It takes a month or two for the NFL to establish a pecking order.
The teams listed may still have great seasons.

Jaguars as well. That's the top 3 other AFC contenders all 0-1 one week into things.

And hell this was one of the easiest games on the Colts brutual schedule this year.

Not a good day for betting for the favs or the death pools.

These losses today by the Colts, Chargers and Jags should not be dismissed, in a year that the Pats will have to scratch and claw for every victory, it's nice to see the other big 3 in the afc losing while at full strength and the Patriots winning while depleted.

We don't need a record breaking offense to win another SB, we need great defense, strong special teams and a solid offense, limit mistakes and play as a team. We certainly have the right coaching staff to pull it off.

Sound familiar? (2001)

yep it is good to have that lead but the pats still need to go into indy and sd prob without brady. you have to think indy and sd will be playing a lot better. indy looked lost at times tonight

i was thinking about taht...

if brady hadnt been hurt today, everyone would have said the pats would win the sb with colts/jags/bolts all losing to VERY inferior teams...

the brady injury changes things...a LOT

The common thread to all the losses is that they occurred against teams with very good or improved defenses, good running game and just adequate QB's

Horrible loss tonight by my Colts. We looked rusty, lost and uninspired. Not going to panic though, it's week 1. And to be honest we fell right into a trap game and deserved to get our butts kicked. Hey I can't complain we will peak too early this year.

I feel worse for you guys losing Brady. :(

Strange day for the AFC.Just glad this day is over.

Good luck to you guys this year.

Full strength? San Diego had their Pro Bowl LT and Pro Bowl C out for the game. Gates was testing his repaired toe and hadn't played this preseason. Staring MLB Stephen Cooper was suspended. That was not full strength.

Yeah, whatever, let us know when you win a SB.

^I agree. The Jaguars o-Line was suffering from injuries and was one of the major reasons we lost.

As for the thread topic, it just shows you that not all is as it seems sometimes.

Interesting stat though...last years SB champion went 0-2 to start the season.

Yea, as bad as it is to lose Brady for the year, that all these other things happened today definately make it even worse than previously imaginable.

Thanks for being classy, man. Funny thing is I have a couple of fans who hate the Pats that are almost as disappointed as I am. The reason for this is because they won't be able to love to hate the Pats this year, lol.

We may never win one. We are San Diego.

But, you are starting to sound like Al Davis. Don't live in the past. This will be the fourth straight year you haven't won one.

By default, my friend. Losing a HOF quarterback for the season is a little more devastating than losing a HOF running back. Don't worry if you get flamed, dude. A lot of us are in a state of depression right now.
