guys i know culpepper kinda sux
im just trying to deal with this whole situation without jumping off the gillette stadium bridge right now

i really want to maximize this era, with the most rings possible, and
i just cant face the possible reality of a lost season in that sense

Steve Grogan still looks good.

You'll have to excuse me while I laugh in your face for the next hour. Culpepper doesn't just "KINDA SUX", Culpepper is horrible and can not function in this offense. He doesn't have the mental capacity for it.

You aren't going to "maximize" the era by trying to fit square pegs into round holes.. .

no!!

Facts....

He is the same age 31 as Tom Brady.
He threw 39 TDs in his 2004 All-Pro season, his last fully healthy season.
He has just started 17 games in the last 3 years. (13 TD / 18 INT)
Has 5 seasons of experience with Randy Moss.

Just last year in 2007 Culepepper accounted for 5 TDs in week 4 on the road against the Miami Dolphins. He threw 2 TDs and rushed for another 3, earning him the AFC's offensive player of the week award.

so, it looks like it could be season-ending
while i did like what i saw out of Cassel today, it was against the chiefs
if he is out for the yr, a one yr deal for culpepper would be a great situation for both parties
he has a repoir with Moss, can stretch the field, he's definitely the most talented guy available
thoughts?

might not be a bad idea

Well, one, you can't speak for everyone in here. Two, its ignorant posts like yours and by people like yourslef who think I am arrogant because I show your posts to be what they are. Ignorant and unfounded. And because I am not PC about it and call you for the idiots you are, you get a burr in your shorts instead of just admitting when you are wrong.

OH, arrogant people like you claim me to be don't admit when they are wrong. I actually do. And if you searched the archives you could easily find numerous posts where I have done so.

...time to call Vinny T. :D

I understand what you're trying to say, but my answer would be NO.

read all previous threads as to why I would not want Culpepper :D

And how'd he do after that?

Facts:
Culpepper improvises and doesn't take coaching.
Its been 3 years since he threw a pass to Moss
The Patriots would have to change their entire offense. That would require 20+ players to learn new plays because Culpepper isn't intelligent enough.

In the game you are so fond of mentioning, Culpepper was a whopping 5 for 14 for 75 yards.

In the 7 games Culpepper played in last year, he took 21 sacks.

And the best fact. The Miami team you are referring to was 1-15 last year. So forgive me if I don't find that the least bit impressive.

Culpepper.....
- throws a nice deep ball
- is pretty accurate
- has limited pocket presence and fumbles frequently
- is a slow decision maker
- depended on his athleticism to overcome #4
- had Chris Cater and Randy Moss constantly taking balls out of defenders' hands for completions in MN

I don't think he's much of a fit for this offense, especially since he's not nearly as mobile as he was pre-injury.

No Way....IMHO!!

Of all and any the veteran QB's available I think Culpepper is the only one who is actually good enough to be an improvement over Cassel.

Not saying that Culpepper is all this and that but the other QB's being mentioned .... good grief!
