If Brady was able to walk off the field on his own, how can he be out for the season? If he was unable to walk off the field on his own then yeah logically he might be out for the season.

There are players who get carted off the field because trainers dont want to put anymore pressure on their legs. If it was a knee injury like the media states then Iam sure the trainers would not want any pressure to be put on his knees, so they might cart him off the field. The media just wants to hype the injury so I gives them a story to put out. He is last years MVP with 50+ TDs so it makes sense to hype up his story. If he was a QB on another team I dont think they would care as much, well maybe if he was a Peyton or Eli they might.

Iam guessing he has a bruised knee, and will be out for sometime but not out for the season.

Its pretty wierd and sad that a player would be out for the season when he was able to walk off the field on his own.

If he has to get surgery done on his knees then yes I can see why they would put him out for the season, but if he is not getting surgery then Iam sure he will be back.

The walking on his own which he really didn't do as there were people supporting him as he hobbled probably doesn't mean anything.

Just off the top of my head, Phillip Rivers jogged off the field after his ACL tear last year. He then jogged back on too I believe. Donovan Mcnabb jogged off with a season ending knee injury too a couple years back.

Plus in case we forgot, Rivers played the Championship game with an ACL tear.

Denial is the first stage of grief. :(

yeah . that was something.

as much as a jackass Phillip Rivers is, i will always respect him for that and remember LT crying on the bench.

We do not really know for sure how much time Tom Brady will miss but the negative news is starting to add up.

Denial is the first stage of grief. :(

He's lagging. I already passed through:

Denial: "Nah, he walked off, doesn't look that bad."

Anger: "ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME!? TWO SERIES IN!?"

Bargaining: "God, I'll give my left leg to the poor if he comes out in the 2nd half..."

Depression: "Where's the Jack..."

And now I'm on acceptance. It is what it is. One game at a time. I wouldn't accept the team laying down on the season because Brady was out, so I won't either. Just need to temper my expectations a bit now.

GO PATS!

All of these sources are reporting the same thing, we have to accept that it is true. We need to start believing in Matt Cassel

I am guessing bruised knee. I am hoping a bruised knee.

Even with an ACL or MCL tear you can walk. It hurts like hell, a lot of limping involved but you can walk.

I don't know if that's what is wrong with him or not. But Brady walking off the field doesn't rule out ACL tear...

If you tear yout ACL completely then you can walk off no problem. It's just one of those things.

Exactly, alot of players have torn their ACLs and have still walked off the field, even played with it like Rivers did last year.

I have had a partially torn ACL for 4 years. I run and work out and play wallyball.

Wrestlers have wrestled on torn ACL's. I know it's not real, but there is alot of running and jumping.

Brady walking means nothing.

If you watch the replay, pollard was going for his feet more so than brady's knees. Also, if you watch Brady's upper body, brady already made his throw when the hit came in, his arm already went through the throwing motion.

Brady most likely tweaked his knee or twisted it, bruised knee might not be likely because no head on contact was made to the knee.

It's far more complicated than that, and I can speak from experience.

Some 25 years ago, I broke my fibia in one leg when I fail to turn into the wind when I landed. Initially, I pooh-poohed the notion that I had a serious injury; I was even able to stand on that one leg alone to prove it. It was sore, but I sure it was nothing serious. Fast forward an hour later, and I could not touch my foot to the ground without tremendous pain.

Perhaps 10 years ago, I fell hard doing some NASTAR racing (corporate skiing leagues) and hurt my knee. I manage to get up, ski the rest of the way down the hill, and then drive home that night, but the next morning, the knee went totally bum on me, and I wasn't back to normal until the summer.

So the fact that Brady walked/limped away off the field and down the steps doesn't really indicate anything.

pollard didnt really do direct contact to the knee, he went for the feet. If pollard made more contact with the knee then I would be very concern. Brady made the throw and was going through with the motion and his feet just sliped due to pollard. So it made his knee go all wonky. Think of it this way, if brady made the same throw but stepped into a pool of wet grass and his footing slipped causing his knee to be twist akwardly. Pollard was on the ground and his head and shoulders made no contact with brady's legs, pollard's hand grabbed brady's feet which cause the imbalance in brady causing him to go down.

Brady should be back this year, it might take a longer time because the patriots want to make sure he is fully healed.

the fact that brady walked off the field and pollard did not make direct contact to his knee should hint to a return for brady this season.
