There are far too many posters who first of all EXPECTED a superbowl with Brady at the helm and second of all have no hope at all without Brady.

Seriously, did you start watching in 2003? Did you not pay attention until the sueprbowl in 2001? We have a solid team all around. We are a lot better off with Tom Brady, the best qb ever, leading the team, but we aren't the friggin 07 dolphins without him.

You people act as if only HOF QBs win superbowls, or even regular season games.

Seriously people, get over your emotions and pick yourself up or get the hell off the bandwagon already!

And all this just with SPECULATION of super Tom's injury. He could be back next week or in a few weeks.

Well said. I'm sitting here dumbfounded at some of the things I'm reading.

People should take a look at the other 52 names on the roster. They are about as talented a 52 as you're going to find anywhere in the league. If we can't win with the talent on this roster, then we'll never win games after Brady retires.

We can and will still win the Superbowl with Matt Cassel as our QB. I have no doubt. If anything this will be a fun year as we completely blow people's minds and piss them off even more.

lay in the weeds and win by three just like we did a few years back...Patriots baby....THIS will KILL all the bigmouth media morons watching this TEAM find ways to win

Can't you picture it? Cassell as the #1 QB in the Fantasy Draft next year? hehe

Anyway, since you called 16-0 last year, I'm with you. Let's balance the offense and kick some arse.

I've got Cassel's back, we'll miss you Tom

I understand why you've posted this, but you're all severely missing the point.

You're ultimately espousing the very thing you attempt to condemn - which is being a results oriented fan. "We can win without Brady" to me is equally annoying as "we have no chance without Brady." The point is, a season without Brady would be a bummer either way. You could tell me right now Cassell would turn out to be a superstar and we'd go 19-0, I'd still be bummed that we'd be without Brady.

Essentially, EMoney, and the others in this thread, I know what you're trying to say, but at this current point, it kind of comes off the same way as telling someone they can buy a new dog when their current one dies. I like watching Brady play - he's a one of a kind player and its a privilege to see him work. Regardless of how this season goes (assuming he's out for the year), we'll be deprived of that experience.

The most important player in the history of this franchise just went down with an expected season-ending injury. Do you REALLY believe everyone is going to think rationally on the same day which this occurs? Give it a few days after we get official word and people calm down a bit.

YEah, Brady definitely helps the Patriots, but we have a lot of other good players on this team. Brady will no doubt be missed, but we'll be alright!

I understand where you are coming from, and don't get me wrong... I am extremely bummed and nervous about Brady's injury. I was posting this more in frustration to those who have posted things such as we have 0 hope, top 10 pick in the draft, blah blah blah.

Losing Brady sucks, and it hurts, A LOT. However in the end, we should all still be PATRIOTS fans and not only fans of certain players. We have a chance without Brady (a much better one with him obviously) and we should always root for the team. Plus the team is stacked with talent all over, not just Brady.

That being said I'm still holding out hope its an MCL sprain or something. He was hit in the outside of his knee and I always thought that would indicate the MCL more strongly. I didn't see any rotation or hyperextension of his knee, so I didn't think ACL when I saw it. I'm not professional though and have 0 inside information so all I can do is hope. Pollard saying he heard Brady scream out made me the most worried.

Anyhow all in all, hoping for the best for Brady and rooting for the team regardless.

OK, gotcha - I see what you're saying.

Umm, yeah. People should be jumping for joy that Brady is injured.

Give people some time to vent, for goodness sake. This sucks for Brady, the team, and us (the fans).

Venting is one thing, disrespecting the 52 other players and many coaches including BB is an entirely different thing.

You are so totally missing the point. All fans want their team to win. But fans are still fans of their team whether their team wins or loses.

We have been infected by so many fans who only care about winning, not about their team. ANYTHING, real or imagined, that gets in the way of their team winning, sets them off.

The Patriots are my team. I believed in them the years they went 2-14, and I'm not not going bonkers now when they have the best team in the NFL. Becasue even without Brady, they are still the best team in the NFL.

This thread is merely stating what so many old-time fans find disgusting: the total disrespect shown OUR team by whiners and band-waggonners. We saw it in 2002, and it is much worse now because there are so many people who DON'T support the Pats, are NOT with them win or LOSE, and DON'T stand by them. They want to bask in glory, not support their team, and when adversity strikes they are angry that they cannot associate themselves with a team they feel is guaranteed to win.

I say, FINE. Let'em go. Fact is, unfortuanely, that they'll stick around a few weeks, annoying us with their whining, crying and doom-and-glooming, and when it turns out that the Patriots are a GREAT team 2-53, and can win games, they'll be back. Too bad.

Meantime they will carp and ***** that we lost to teh Jets (if we do) and that BB did this wrong or that wrong, but they will be back. Too bad.

No one is disrespecting the other 52 players. But it is ridiculous to say this is the same team without Brady. We are talking about potentially the best QB of all time. There are parts that are interchangeable. QB is not one of them. Dont get me wrong, I am hoping they do well and will cheer for them the same way as I have for the last 15 years. But come on folks. Matt Cassel?? This division was a walk this year. now it will be a close battle with the jets and bills. Hopefully they can pull it through.

Thank you for saying what i was feeling, we got a big game next week versus the hated jets, time to tighten our belts and toughen up, each week we will find a way to grind out a victory, defense wins championships.

I forgot that the Bills had the next Brady and Favre at his age is a sure lock to be amazing. You are damn right it is disrespecting this team. So instead of beating the bills by 40 we beat them by 10-20 with Cassel, the east is still a walk with our TEAM.

By saying Cassel is as bad as you say he is, is also saying BB is a moron. But keep on keeping on man.

This could be their greatest season as a team. I expect them to step up and overcome. It may not be a pretty season of football but it could be great.

Its just very frustrating that is all , the team also was deflated to , and that is what Im putting today's lackluster performence all around..

Matt Cassel again will be fine, as long as he does not lose any games for us.. interested in the possible chris simms signing as well.

You must have been in the game thread today ;)
