I say yes. We still have Moss and Bellichick.

Possible, but unlikely.

Yes, Of course we can.

Look at what the Giants did last year! The Bears the year before, and before them the Seahawks, Panthers, Tampa Bay, FALCONS!

This team can do that.

What do they always say, "Defense wins Super Bowls". Yea, well that's about to be put to the test.

What the hell is wrong with you people!

C'mon, let's be serious people. Brady is the best player in the league. The AFC is very strong and it's very unlikely. It sucks, I know, but I just cannot see it. Not that I'm going to abandon the team, but this BLOWS!

ANYTHING is possible, but after what we saw today (squeaking by the worst team in football, by a hair, at home), I highly doubt it.

Could this thread be locked until such time as the team has actually confirmed that Brady is done? The only thing that's happened is the idiot brigade is out in force and is sharing their misinformation with one another and GLOATING.

I'd say the odds go down to 50/50 if Brady is out for the entire season. This is definitely a serious blow to the Pats chances.

STFU, all of a sudden, now that it's happened, we have a chance. Face it, ther is no chance. Enjoy the season, enjoy the rookies, whatever.

Anything's possible. Chris Simms, if he starts, is no worse than Eli Manning.

The Super Bowl is a long way off.

And yeah, I'm trying to be optimistic. I don't see it happening.

Uhh, no. Matt Cassel is the QB. It sucks, but it's the truth. No chance he leads us to the Super bowl.

ditto,

this thread will separate the homers from the realists

Until the Patriots are mathematically eliminated, the Super Bowl is always a possibility. But it's less likely if Tom Brady isn't at the helm.

The only IDIOT in this thread is you,. Your a loud-mouthed homer, and your always talking down to people. Their are several reports out that Brady is done for the year, and people have the right to state their opinions on a topic that is being reported in the media. Who is gloating his injury you bafoon?

If you don't like the thread stay out of it!

Will someone please tell who is the AFC powerhouse that we have no chance of beating without Brady?

San Diego? Yeah they lost to Carolina today of all teams

Indy? They are losing to Chicago

Jacksonville? They lost to Tennessee

Please, we may not go 16-0 but we can still win a SB with Cassel. This is still one of the best teams in the league. This SB will be a lot more enjoyable however since the bandwagon will finally have some legroom after all the fair weather fans get lost.

There should have been an option for " I don't know". That's my answer. It's too damn early to tell, and right now this team has to go through the transition of not having Brady there. We had it all going on last year with Tom Brady, but look who won that Super Bowl...THE NEW YORK GIANTS.
So my answer is I don't know. It's only week one. Let's see how it works out.
I'm not optimistic that we can get to the Super Bowl without Brady, but I'm willing to give the team a chance before I write them off unlike some people.

Was this site up back in 2001, after Bledsoe went down? if so, what were the reactions here? And if not, what were all the people who are now on this site thinking when they saw Brady come in (assuming you're not a bandwagoneer :p)?

Note: Not trying to compare Cassel's situation now to Brady's then, at all. But I do wanna know what everyone thought of an unproven Tom coming in in place of franchise QB Drew.

I said yes, though I don't consider it likely. I still think the Patriots will be right in contention for a playoff spot, and if they do make it in, who knows?

The Giants winning the Super Bowl last year proves that all you need to do is get in to the playoffs to have a chance.

It will be interesting to be the underdogs for once, though first we have to make the playoffs.

The first step is a strong performance by Cassel next week in a win over the Jets. That will set the tone for the rest of the season.
