Just said it on SNF.

Al Michaels just stated that Chris Simms is visiting NE tomorrow.

Chris Simms Coming In Tomorrow For Workout/Physical...

Per Al Michaels...

Possible Signing of Christopher Sims?

I just heard Alan Michaels and Johnathan Madden mention on the NBC broadcast that the Pats are going to try to bring in Christoper Sims, son of former NFL quarterback Philip Sims, tomorrow.

Do you think they would be doing this if the injury to Thomas Brady wasn't serious?

I also wonder what everyone thinks of Sims. Can he lead the team to the SB?

Simms to come in tomorrow

..according to Al Micheals of NBC....hmmmm

THIS SUCKS....

Al Michaels just said Chris Simms coming in for a physical

At least I think that is what I heard. My family was all talking over the tv.

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

Yep, Al Michaels just mentioned it. That seems to indicate that Brady is done for an extended period of time. he would not be coming in if Brady was out for a week or two. Damn...the season flashed before me when I saw Brady go down. I knew it was bad right away...:(

Re: Simms to come in tomorrow

better to have a vet backup and not need him than need one and not have him. Was thinking about being "first" on this one then realized every new log-in now takes 15 minutes LOL.

wow. wonder if there'll be some deja vu for Belichick with a Simms on premises. I know he coached D. Would just seem like a funny signpost for the passage of time in the league.

That confirms it, the ACL reports probably are true :[. They wouldn't be making this move if Brady was coming back.

If you subscribe to the adage that "where there's smoke, there's fire," then it certainly doesn't look good. HOWEVER, you need more than two quarterbacks. Therefore, they'd be bringing someone in even if Brady were only out one week...

Yeah, it doesn't sound good, but we simply don't know for sure: this could just be a precautionary measure.

in any event, chris simms should be signed regardless of the prognosis on brady. he should have been our backup in the first place. going through last year with cassel was bad enough.

chris simms had a decent 2005 season - 61% completion percentage and 81 QB rating with 11 tds. that was on the Bucs. he could be even better with the pats. i really think he could give us a decent shot at winning the division.

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

Ild feel better if it was Phil Simms.

Or Drew.

But I refuse to beleive Brady is out for the season until I see the letters IR:mad:

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

Excellent, good to see Chris come in and fill that empty 3rd QB hole we have right now.....................

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

If Tom is going to be out we need a backup. But I will be real disappointed if Chris starts and doesn't backup. Matt has earned the starting job against the Jets!

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

Chris Simms did a decent job here at Texas and I think he got a bummm wrap at Tampa. So, we'll see. I already miss Tom.....

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

Simms is a lefty, correct? Hope that doesn't mindf*ck the receiving corps. It does require adjustments.

Re: NBC:pats bringing in chris simms for a physical tonite

okay guys. reality check here.

brady's done for the season. this much smoke, there is fire.

and i think chris simms is a great fit. i think he's the starter after the bye week. he had a great season with the bucs a few years back (before getting injured), he's accurate, and seems like a smart kid. i think he can lead the team to an 11 or 12 win season.

yeah i'm upset. but i'm also actually a little excited. can you imagine how you're going to feel now if the team A) makes the playoffs, and B) does even reasonably well when they get there? it's a strange field this year. i liked the way the defense played today. hope is not lost, and look at it this way... the expectations game is totally in our favor right now. as it was, if the team lost in the playoffs or won 9 games, we'd be miserable. now, if they don't fall apart and go 6-10, we're going to be invested in the season in a way we weren't.

i trust belicheck. this team still has great wideouts, a young, fast defense, and good running backs. i think that things might not dissolve the way people are going to start predicting they will. if the team needed an excuse to rally, they definitely got one now...
