so, it looks like it could be season-ending
while i did like what i saw out of Cassel today, it was against the chiefs
if he is out for the yr, a one yr deal for culpepper would be a great situation for both parties
he has a repoir with Moss, can stretch the field, he's definitely the most talented guy available
thoughts?

There is a reason Culpepper is retired (and he IS officially retired): He cannot read defenses. I don't want him here.

eF that....the only QB signing that is gonna be done is extending Cassel's contract after he picks apart the Jets.

Go Matt, We love you. Well some of us at least. Ignore the haters!

No Thanks.

Culpepper - no thanks.

im not a Cassel hater, but can we really win the sb with him at the helm?

In recent years he's been a walking QB controversy. Ixnay on signing him unless the Pats are confident he's gotten over that.

No. Culpepper is not a good option. He is an awful decision maker and was only effective when he had mobility. I agree that the team will probably sign a veteran QB, but it will be an insurance option to avoid exposing O'Connell if something happens to Cassell.

not saying the season's over, but I don't care who's at QB, if it's not Brady, I'm sorry to say it, but we probably won't. Not saying we can't but, percentages drop A LOT no matter if it's Culpepper or Cassel.

Could fans posting suggestions like sign Culp please, please read "Patriot Reign" so they'd have the faintest clue about what BB looks for in a QB?

Hint: It's not Dante

No thanks. Stick with Matt, and if you want a backup for Matt, look at Holcomb, Rattay or Harrington.

Could any team win a superbowl with Culpepper at the helm??

THINK PEOPLE. At least Cassel knows the system and the playbook and the personnel over and above Moss and he can read defenses. He also isn't presidposed to making the same mental mistakes over and over and over - or he wouldn't still be here...

No QB is perfect, they all make mistakes, bad throws, wrong reads from to time. It's the undisciplined ones who make the same stupid mistakes born of arrogance and willful ignorance that Bill cannot tolerate. An undisciplined guy like Culpepper would not only lose here he'd set the program back a couple of years.

Apparently they are going to bring Simms in for a look see - lesser of several evils I guess. Must mean they really didn't see any upside in Gutierrez.

I'll be playing QB for the Patriots before Daunte.

yes, i read Patriot Reign
and while culpepper doesn't truly have the set of skills that BB looks for, and Cassel has the "type" of skills that he does, i still feel that culpepper gives us a better chance to win our fourth ring

If Culpepper is our starting QB, I will not watch a single game that he is in there. The man is dumber than a bag of doorknobs. He could never work in the Pats' system. Never.

He would be the worst option for the Patriots.

Hell no to Culpepper. We are a better team with Cassel.

Culpepper is more likely the Pats' best chance for the first pick in the draft. I think I would give the Pats a better chance to win the Super Bowl than Culpepper.

So, the Patriots should bring in Daunte Culpepper and force 26 guys to learn a new offense because this offense is not one that Culpepper is familiar with nor can he function in .

I'm not sure how you think its a great situation for both parties.
