O'Connell is waaaaaay better than Cassel, we played the Cheifs and barely won. O'Connell would be making this offense score more, we've seen it in the preseason.

I pray to god that Brady hasnt torn a ligament.

We saw O'Connell do it against 3rd stringers. Cassel just did it in a real game.

72% comp, 8.4 yds/play, 1 TD, 0 TURNOVERS

What else do you want out of your backup QB? I'll agree that we should temper any expectations for future games (I think the Jets will be a better test), but you can't tell me that Cassel didn't earn himself another start (if necessary) based on this game.

I think BB would know best.

Let's give Cassel a few weeks of starter prep before we judge, is all.

What exactly did Cassel do wrong? Did he throw an INT? Nope.

What I saw was poor play-calling by McDaniels and a defense that got soft towards the end of the game.

How is that Cassel's fault? Here's a newsflash for you. Its not.

There is a reason O'Connell didn't go into the game in the 4th quarter. It's because Cassel was playing very well. Maybe you should watch the game instead of gushing over fantasty crap.

In BB we trust. If O'Connell was the better QB, he would play.

Cassel is our QB until Brady returns.

All of the armchair QB's and Cassel bashers need to STFU.

I don't understand this thread.

Cassel came in and did better than we all expected. No one thought he would play as good as he did.

So i'm not sure why you are posting this. Maybe wait until Cassel plays like crap? I doubt O'Connel would have done better.

he almost threw an INT right before the Moss TD, it was a bad throw and hit the defender right in the chest but he dropped it. I thought to myself jeez we got away with one there.

Cassel played well but OConnell can play better imo. And remember we were playing KC and Cassel didnt exactly light it up. Id hate to see what he does against the Chargers, OConnell would give us a fighting chance against the good teams.

I have read a lot of moronic posts on this board. I have even started a few.

But this may be the single most moronic post ever.

I don't understand this thread either. Cassel was more than I expected.

How did Brady do in his very first game?

Cassel has seasons of knowledge about this system and playbook.

O'Connell has literally only months of this system.

Fans are way to inpatient and expect immediate results.

You don't expect Cassell to be better next week if he has to play?

He was literally thrown into the game. Next week if he plays he'll know he's starting.

Definite candidate for "Most ignorant thread of the day"

You have very little to base this on. If O'Connell was that good out of college he would have gone in the first round. he's a project who showed flashes against 3rd stringers. Forgive me for not seeing the necessity to jeopardize his development by making him play before he's ready.

Cassel made some GREAT plays today. He also made some mistakes, but nothing costly. Bottom line, this team could have laid down when Brady left, but he gave them life and kept them in it, and we squeaked out a win. We don't KNOW that O'Connell would do that. We just SAW Cassel do it.

SOrry, but, your an idiot.......tell me Cassels QB rating please or exactly what he did wrong. I guess leading your team to victory means nothing to you.

Cassel came in and did a great job - period. Please dont take away from that.

I think we should resign Chad Jackson to play QB, I hear he is the man.

I once made a thread on this site where i asked what would you do if you had a gun to your head and had to pick one option out of several disgusting choices.

This thread is worse than that. Finally someone has created a crappier thread than that one, i thought i'd have to hold on to that forever. Thanks Briz.

This guy still thinks that we will REGRET letting Jackson go... You're not going to get through.

Cassell played, I would think, better than both the optimists and pessimists would have thought. He certainly exceeded my expectations.

this post does not merit any attention

I think Cassell did just fine ! If Brady is out long term, Cassell will be practicing with the first team and learning the game plan. Throwing in a rookie over Cassell ( At this point ) makes no sense what so ever ! I think also being able to gameplan knowing it's going to be Cassell will enable the Pats too put a better offense on the field.

I'm not worried, but it looks like it's going to be another year where the knuckles will be white more often then not !! Memories !!
