Even with the game far from over, the guy has far exceeded my expectations of what he could do. Sorry Matt for doubting you.

On a side note congrats to the offense and Josh McDaniels for helping to put the guy in a position to succeed.

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

I don't think anyone was wrong with anything they said about him based on his performance in the preseason. We all knew he had potential and it's finally time in his final year to show it.

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

I said he wasn't able to even come in and salvage a game if needed. He proved me wrong. I think I should man up and admit I am wrong.

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

If everyone who dismissed this guy posts a note, the forums will crash for sure. Let's hope he doesn't need to exceed expectations for too long!

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

Get real, Dude!

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

this thread should of been reserved for when cassel has to play a team that doesn't play like it's still pre season.

sorry, the way the pats have been running, this game should of been wide open in the air game.

i hope to whatever that we dont need to see cassel on any kind of regular basis, it's best for all of us in every regard.

From your keyboard to God's ears!!!!

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

one scoring drive against the chiefs isn't going to prevent a 2-14 season

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

Guys, get a grip. The guy isn't that good, better pray Tom Brady just has a little boo-boo. Be lucky he only had THREE dropped picks.

What is two scoring drives going to get you since Cassel has more than one?

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

The game isn't even over yet, and we're playing the Chiefs. Geesh... get a grip OP.

Hear hear. We all know the deal if Brady's going to be out.

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

they dont trust him to throw the ball

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

still a 2-14 season

LOL! The Pats still have a chance to get double digit wins with Cassel at QB. They won't be in contention for the Super Bowl, but the team is good enough to win games as long as Cassel continues to play like this.

LOL! Yeah, you want the QB to air it out when you are trying to run out the clock.

This is something I've never understood. Most will agree that BB and co. are the best at what they do, and are very good talent evaluators (and most teams can properly evaluate players they get to see in their system over time). However the same people would accuse Matt Cassel of being completely incompetent, with 0 ability to move the offense at all. Not seeing that is indirectly calling BB and co. stupid by putting such an incompetent worthless QB as the patriots backup.

This was the first time we saw Cassel with the first stringers in an actual game that was meaningful. He did pretty well, like I'm sure the coaches EXPECTED since he is the BACKUP QB.

He's not Brady, no one is, but he's as good as any other BACKUP QB in the league.

As good as any backup QB in the laegue

You are completely out of your mind.
Cassell's perform, ance was Trent Dilfer like today.
Patriots will NOT compete for AFC Champiionship without better QB play

Re: The Official Matt Cassel Apology Thread

God I can't even believe I'm a fan of the same team as some of you people. Guy goes out there and does his best and wins the game but you all are still giving him sh!t for it.

Oh Ok... Name every backup qb that is better than him and would have performed markedly better. List each and every one that is better than him since I'm out of my mind and all.
