Is Welker or Hobbs on the retun team.

To bad I never get what I want.

I would never play poker with Belichick. He might go "all in" with king high.

Are you crazy? What if one of them goes down on a return? That's how Welker got hurt in the first place. We kept Slater & CJ Jones on the roster for a reason. Hope they step it up tomorrow around 1:00 p.m.

Never mind - I just went back and re-read the title of your thread, which I thought said "Something I want to see.."

Slow down and read my post.

I don't want them returning the ball.

Its high stakes poker and Belichick is not afraid to go all in.

I don't like it either.

I want Slater out there on kickoff returns. His speed is fantastic, and he always hits it up the field - no trying to make something happen that isn't there, just go fast, look for a seam and get as many yards as possible. With such a prolific offense, that approach is all we need.

BB doesnt believe in these theories...the best punt returner will return the ball. Welker can get hurt on the first offensive snap also. its a football game.

I watch lots of football dude.

I don't want Brady playing special teams.

If ya don't understand why, maybe you should watch some film.

Apples and oranges.

Brady is a QB, they NEVER play special teams.

Receivers often play ST, because in reality a big punt return can have a bigger impact on a game than a reception. Why is there this perception that getting hurt on a punt return is somehow more of a waste than getting hurt on a pass over the middle? Welker's in more danger playing in the slot IMO, you want to take him out of there too?

Now, if Welker is still a hurt, then I understand, because you have healthy people to take his place. But all things being equal, if he's your best punt returner, you use him, because that helps you win football games.

why do you have to get offensive without understanding what i was saying ?no one is saying u dont watch football okay ? what has brady playing special teams got to do with welker returning punts . Remember the indianapolis game last yr ? the 2nd TD was set up by a huge welker return.
Teams like colts struggle in STeams because they have the 3rd stringers play STeams everyear and they keep changing. BBś philosophy is to have starters play special teams. So you will also see bruschi vrabel on kickoff returns. Heck , the game Teddy returned from his heart surgery he played special teams.
Again ..no need to talk smack to have a healthy debate ..okay ?

Welker is our PR and will be as soon as he is 100% - likely Week 1. Hobbs at KR is a little more up in the air with the presence of Slater although I imagine they'll both be back there. Belichick always has many starters dotted throughout the special teams - get over it.

Hobbs has returned kickoffs his entire career. Troy Brown returned punts almost his entire career. Welker returned punts all last year and was fine. Maroney has returned kickoffs more than a few times. Bruschi and Vrabel live on Kick and Punt Coverage, Harrison is there a lot too.

The Patriots under Belichick have always used Starters; because unlike the majority of the league - Belichick realizes that Special Teams is important and uses the best players possible. He always has.

If Welker is healthy, he'll be returning punts; if not - it'll probably be Deltha O'Neal. Hobbs will return kickoffs. That's just the way it's gonna be.

Personally, if they feel that CJ Jones or Slater can get what Welker or Hobbs would, I don't see the need to throw starters out there. It's not that I'm specifically worried about special teams injuries--it's just extra exposure that increases the risk of getting hurt.

If Welker and Hobbs really are that much better, then it's worth the advantage. Every yard gained on special teams is one that we don't have to fight for later.

Belichick will put in whoever he feels will give us the best field position, Welker will most likely be in their returning punts in open field situations. Belichick didn't use him in in a lot of short punting situations where a fair catch or touchback is more likely and I expect that to continue. No use risking injury if there is little possibilty of return.

Hobbs is less likely to field kicks, but I haven't been in love with Slater's return ability as others. Yes he is fast, but he hasn't seem to have found the seams yet. I guess that may come with more experience. Slater hasn't been bad at it. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him back there.

if brady could return kicks, we might see him return kicks. special teams means a lot to bill.

but last i heard brady was beat in a race by josh mcdaniels, so we'll be seeing our offensive coordinater on ST before brady

you think BB will go all in on you, but then he'll CHECK down to a rb.
Just when you think he's gonna CALL a time out, and plan on flopping the ball into the endzone on 4th down, he'll FOLD up that part of the playbook and just kick a field goal, and who knows, the wind might just TURN so fast it'll fly to the closest RIVER.

just wanted to help you out with them poker refrences.

The one thing I don't want to see vs. K.C.? Someone else replace Herm Edwards on the sideline!
