Josh McDaniels

Assuming one belives McDaniels is a very talented OC, and a big reason for the team's success (i.e. that McDaniels would make this team a contender even without Brady, because he's not going to have Brady with him in his next job) that doesn't mean he has the skill set to be a head coach.

One would assume that owners understand this - that one could be a great X and Os guy but still ill suited for the leadership position of Head Coach. I don't know if McDaniels has that skill set.

That's no insult - just the way it is.

I think if I were an owner, if I was going to take a chance on a Head Coach in his young 30s I'd want to make sure he had a very strong personality. McDaniels doesn't strike me that way currently - but of course he'd need to keep that well in check being on BB's staff.

Don't know a lot about the game either I guess.... Our last drive required a stupid penalty by the Giants ST to keep it from ending in futility like all those other drives because it put a gassed DL that had stopped us back out there against an OL that got manhandled all evening once Spagnjuolo got them dialed in...

LOL there weren't any penalties on either side during the Pats' last scoring drive

"Don't know a lot about the game either I guess...." :D

I know I may be criticized for this, but as hot of a commodity as Josh McDaniels may become, I think he may have trouble coaching in he league at first.

That is a conditional statement. I say that because look at the weapons he's had to work with. I'm sure his schemes had a great deal to do with the offensive sucess, but in all likelihood if he gets a head coaching job next year, its going to be with an anemic team trying to improve from below mediocrity.

Can McDaniels succeed without a HOF QB, a potential HOF WR, and a host of other excellent offensive stars? I've always been a firm believer that you can make all the schemes you wish, but you have to have the right players to do it. That is my main concern. He may have some tough years until he can build the offense he wants or needs to implement his skills.

Sounds like Cam Cameron to me.

I think he'll be with us for at least a few more years. He's been adding some hot components over the last few years and I think we;ll sh&^% our pants with some of the stuff we'll be doing on offense.

I'm hoping the defense can get better too...but I think we will be able to score at will and do it MORE efficiently and quickly on th Offense side.

Romeo Crennel, Charlie Weiss, Eric Mangini

That's recently? Mangini wasn't a big loss. If you remember, some of his
responsibilities were taken away from him at one point.
