Well, if he's going to develop as a deep threat, it's not going to be in Miami getting thrown to by The Noodle.

The Noodle has been throwing some pretty nice looking and zippy passes lately

You're kidding... what kind of world do we live in where a man can't even count on a division quarterback called The Noodle having a noodle arm?! :D

The noodle is a far better qb than half you homers give him credit for.

I bet they snag him.

What ever happened with the Raiders?

I never said he was a bad QB. Heck, Tom Brady didn't have the strongest arm for a while (or at least had never really displayed it), yet he was more effective than most in the league.

My point was simply that those who envisioned him as a deep threat opposite Moss are likely not going to see that side of him in Miami, for several reasons:

1) Pennington is not known for deep balls. Catch and run would be Chad's best chance at a big play, which he could probably do pretty well.

2) Parcells isn't going to unleash this offense. He's probably going to stay pretty conservative given the weapons and expectations.

3) I'm not convinced of that O-Line yet. Pennington would need time to get the ball deep. Maybe they'll give it to him, but I'm not convinced yet.

4) Ted Ginn is the "deep threat" on that team if there is one.

None of those things speak to Chad being a bad QB or a bad manager of a game, but at this stage of his career he pretty much is what he is.

I wish Chad, and Penny who IS a decent QB, the best of luck except for 2 games this season. It's good to see guys get another shot.

Have you not read his posts in the past couple of days?

I've read his posts over the past couple of months, let alone days. But I don't see the point in the whole chip on the shoulder act.

I don't have a problem with anyone telling it like it is, I have a problem with anyone who tells it like it is being a douchebag about it. He has that whole "I'm ashamed to be associated with these people" thing going, and I think it's bull****.

That's what I was trying to get at, without so many words.

I agree, and I don't get the hate for Chad Pennington. Elite he's not but he's a lot better than some, plus he's always seemed like a pretty nice guy. A couple of years ago or so I remember photos of Tom sitting next to Chad on the bench sort of counseling him or whatever after the Pats had just kicked their *.

Thats not true.... I have a good number of post that have no douchebaggery attached to them.

I mean no harm!

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, since you didn't respond brashly to my post (when most people in your situation would). But yeah, I respect calling it as it is, I just think we should all sing Kumbaya and toast marshmallows over an open fire. Okay, maybe not, but with the season approaching, it'd be cool if we all banded together as Pats fans, cheer the team on, and at least try to be positive.

And on a side note, I like Pennington a lot. Yeah, he does have a noodle arm, but he is still effective, and I would've loved to have had him as a backup to Brady in New England. He would be more likable if he didn't play for a division rival his whole career.

(he breaks easily when hit)

QUOTE]

Parcells isn't the coach. I don't think he will have as much game day/ game plan input as people think. He will get too much credit for any success that Miami might have this season. Who EVER credits the front office for a successful season on the field? Does anyone ever put AJ Smith or Scott Pioli's name into their power rankings or weekly predictions? No. But Parcells name is invoked in every discussion about the team's potential success.

Since Chad has not yet signed with the Fins as of 5.25 PM, EST, why are we having another thread on an ex-Pat instead of continuing this remarkable and insightful discussion under the thread "Some News on Chad"??? :bricks:
