if the pats have another great offensive season do you think Josh will be gone? Hired as a head coach? We been losing alot of coaches lately.

To early to tell.

I don't know. I don't think he will just jump at any situation. It would have to a situation where he thinks he can actually turn around the franchise.

Also, he will have competition for the good jobs. Tony Sporano is definitely going to be a hot candidate assuming the Giants defense stays strong with out Strahan and Umenura. I'm sure there is going to be another hot candidate to emerge during the season too.

I am assuming Jason Garrett is the head coach of the Cowboys next season. So I am not including him since he already has been annointed to the job.

Since when did Tony Sparano become the defensive coordinator for the Giants? ;) Steve Spagnuolo*

Sorry, I get those two mixed up all the time. Sorry, I think everyone whose last name begins with SP and ends with an O are the same people.

I think at some point BB will be looking to do the same thing they are doing in Dallas, Indy and Seattle.....that is groom the next coach behind the incumbent. Having the same system(more or less)can save alot of transition time as alot of teams are finding out the hard way. And I think this is part of the angst against Mangina. Not sure Josh is the guy, kind of depends if BB relishes in his success.

My take is for you to think again, BB & SP are here for at long time - where else would they possibly want to go and what else would they possibly do??

They love what they do and where they do it.

I think BB will stay as long as it takes to win a ring without Tom Brady and that could be a while as TB isn't going anywhere anytime soon either.

I think he will be around to try I don't disagree with that but no guarentees it happens finding a good QB can be real tough and very few win without one. I think he is certainly capable of winning without Tom but he will need another good QB.

No I think Josh is too sagacious to take the open position as the NY JETS HC in 2009.

The situations in Dallas, Indy and Seattle are very different from ours. Jones hired Wade as a seat warmer for Garrett when Tuna bailed early. Dungy has been hinting at retirement for 3 years now and Polian has already lined his own son up as the GM of the future there - it's as if Irsay is just a figurehead. Holmgren has also hinted at leaving since the day Paul Allen took his GM duties away, and this time he's really going.

Bill is signed through 2013. Josh could be gone for seasoning and back by then... I wouldn"t doubt that Pioli hangs around as actual GM overseeing the system once Bill retires. If that is the case it's highly likely you would see a former coordinator ascending to HC here since Pioli knows how to staff this system and would want someone running it who is intimately familiar with it.

I hope he gets a job with another team...he is one of the main reasons we lost the superbowl.

What do you do when a defense is manhandling your offensive line? Run more 5-step drops and try to force the ball to Randy right? WRONG!!! Draws, screens, quick dumpoffs. Brady finally had enough of the HORRIBLE play calling in the 4th and went to Welker...and we all know how that turned out, it almost looked too easy, but by that time it was too late.

Obviously I am not a McDaniels fan.

I know I may be criticized for this, but as hot of a commodity as Josh McDaniels may become, I think he may have trouble coaching in he league at first.

That is a conditional statement. I say that because look at the weapons he's had to work with. I'm sure his schemes had a great deal to do with the offensive sucess, but in all likelihood if he gets a head coaching job next year, its going to be with an anemic team trying to improve from below mediocrity.

Can McDaniels succeed without a HOF QB, a potential HOF WR, and a host of other excellent offensive stars? I've always been a firm believer that you can make all the schemes you wish, but you have to have the right players to do it. That is my main concern. He may have some tough years until he can build the offense he wants or needs to implement his skills.

FWIW, people were suggesting that McDaniels might be HC material back in 2006, when he helped said HOF QB get to 12-4 without HOF WRs.

Don't know a lot about the game either I guess.... Our last drive required a stupid penalty by the Giants ST to keep it from ending in futility like all those other drives because it put a gassed DL that had stopped us back out there against an OL that got manhandled all evening once Spagnjuolo got them dialed in... We lost the superbowl because they won the battle in the trenches handily.

Kinda like what Bill faced in Cleveland, I guess... He turned out to be OK HC material in the end through...

1) No.
2) No.
3) What coaches have we lost lately?
