Roster movement coming
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff
September 4, 2008 11:48 AM

FOXBOROUGH -- Media members had access to the team's locker room this morning (11-11:45 a.m.) and based on some new nameplates, it appears the Patriots have made a few roster moves.

...

 That's all I have to say about this.

Re: Reiss: Another Roster move coming

unless your gonna tell me that the Pats traded for Cromartie from the Chargers none of these moves interest me.

Re: Reiss: Another Roster move coming

Hmmm ... the two-punter formation. I like.

Re: Reiss: Another Roster move coming

Spach PS eligible? Maybe he's replacing DeVree there.

Re: Reiss: Another Roster move coming

Damn! I should NOT have taken the point spread on this Chiefs game. I am DOOMED (as is obviously the team with this latest news). Well there is always the 2010 season to hope for .

Re: Reiss: Another Roster move coming

I was expecting the return of Spach with Watson hurt. FWIW, buzz I'm hearing is that Watson injury could be of the not good variety.

If that's true, Thomas is going to need to step up big time.

Re: Spach is back?

I see a merging of threads soon :D

damn you guys are quick at posting this stuff.lol.

Re: Spach is back?

Do you even read the posts on the site? the top post was about this.

Re: Reiss: Another Roster move coming

I just hope they can IR him in a timely fashion if he's out so we don't have to cut anyone of promise to hold a spot that he'll never step back into.

BTW, is non-football IR still an out-for-season affair?

Cut me some slack, jack. After I read Reiss, I came here to see if a thread had been started. It hadn't (yet), so I started my own. So after I clicked Submit and returned to Page 1, I see that DR had also started this thread, with 5 replies.

If my typing speed is even 30 wpm, I'd be shocked.

It tells you a lot about this board that a Mike Reiss post that's literally five minutes old is considered "old news." A little obsessed, are we? :)

That would seriously suck.

Agreed. It came from a reputable poster at footballguys.com who has a very good Pats source. I think Thomas could hold the fort down early season, but I'd really hate to see Watson out for any extended period of time.

Either way, looks like at least early season the Dave Thomas Hype will be settled one way or the other. :)

might as well have his own thread linked to his page, he is rather informative just like this site

Re: Reiss: Roster moves - Spach back, extra punter?

They have released Posiak. Hodges was signed to the practice squad and Spach was added to the 53. Now Gostowski is missing from practice.

My feelings exactly. I like Thomas & agree he could probably fill in well, but it'd suck to see Watson out for a while. Watson just needs one healthy season and he'd probably emerge among the NFL's elite TEs.
