I was a fan who was dead set against the Manny trade, but I have to give credit where credit is due. With the raftload of injuries this team has had (Beckett, Schilling, Ortiz, Lowell, Drew, Colon, Wakefield, Youk, Casey, Buckholz, Lugo, on and on it goes), it is a small miracle they are where they are.

He has struck gold with virtually every move this year; trading Manny, NOT trading Crisp, grabbing pitchers and outfielders off of the scrap heap/waiver wire, calling up kids from the minors (I'd be more specific as to who but don't feel like getting my balls broken because I can't spell Kotsey, Byrd or Lowrie), also calling up Masterson and Bailey and others and having them chip in, the guy has done a great job this year. I thought Cashman trumped the guy with his trading dealine deals with the Pirates and Tigers, but boy was I wrong.

Next year they could have 5 of 8 position players 3 of 5 starters as home grown talent, pretty sweet.

I am sure the GM of the Rays will win executive of the year considering that rinky dink team is probably going go from worst to first in the AL this year, but Theo has done a great job for sure.........

I agree, you have to give Theo his props I can't believe we are where we are, but I'm not complaining :). By the way you spelled Kotsay wrong :p

Seems to me like the Sox have copied the Pats and formed "situational baseball".

Post-season is what matters most. Let's peg back the Rays and go from there!
