Good news on Meriweather, Jordan to replace Faulk as 3rd down back for this game.

Nuggets from Gillette
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 3, 2008 12:15 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots coach Bill Belichick held his daily press conference (10:45 a.m.) and media members had access to the locker room (11:10-11:55 a.m.) today at Gillette Stadium. Here were a few nuggets of note........

1) Brandon Meriweather prepares for practice.Second-year safety Brandon Meriweather, who has been sidelined with a leg injury suffered Aug. 17 in a preseason game against Tampa Bay, said he expects to practice today, and expects to play Sunday against the Chiefs. Meriweather's return would add speed to the back end of the defense.

Just FYI I like Reiss, so I tend to not post the whole post here. I take a quick excerpt and link to his page. He wrote the article so he should get the page views for the article.

Undoubtedly some here will read the post on this page and not click the link.

Great news on Meriweather!

No surprise on Jordan. He seems to be the obvious choice to step in for Faulk. Great news on Merriweather. I hope Welker is 100% and things will be looking quite good for the opener.

Great news on Meriweather!

Definitely. I think he will be the most improved player from last year to this year on the roster. I feel that the only think missing was confidence on the field. He was in the right spot a lot last year just didn't make the play.

Good point, thanks for the detailed instructions. Now I won't make the same mistake twice.

alot of people have some high hopes for Meriweather this year good to see he is back.

I am one of those people too. I think by the end of the season he coulc be the best member of the secondary and as evidence by my sig I am high on Hobbs and Harrison is Harrison so that says alot

very good news about Meriweather status; let's see also if Deltha O'Neal will be ready also for next Sunday
