USA Today wrote, much better than I could :), a very nice synopsis about the Basketball Team which is well worth reading.

Coach Travis Ford had a lot on his plate coming into the 2007-08 season.
The loss of three double-figure scorers and 20-plus rebounds per game from his roster, including A-10 Player of the Year Stephane Lasme, left Ford with an unproven starting five and a major concern about his lack of depth.
(snip)
Despite a disappointing A-10 tournament loss to Charlotte that obliterated any shot at an NCAA at-large bid, the Minutemen gave their fans a ride to remember by advancing all the way to the NIT championship game.
(snip)The future looks bright, and whatever the future brings, you can be proud of the way your Basketball Team has represented you.

This year's squad was very enjoyable to watch. They played great in the NIT tourney, but they ran into an Ohio State team that shot lights out. Glad to see Travis Ford didn't hightail it to the Big East.

Nope, looks like he chose the Big XII instead. :(

Dooh!

That sucks. Unfortunately, the UMass program has never been the same since Coach Cal left. Its too bad. They have a beautiful facility and a rich history (Dr. J, Al Skinner, Rick Pitino, Marcus Camby), but the fan support has seriously waned since the final 4 appearance (that was ultimately striken from the record books).

Here's hoping the local boy Derek Kellogg is here for many successful years! Interesting to see if he brings any recruits here for this year.
