Has anyone seen these clips exposing Western media lies on Tibet? This is like when we found out some Iraqi footage was simply made up of Iraqis who were paid to celebrate over Saddam's statue, or how about WMD? These clips have over 1million views already on Youtube, exposing the Western media lies and propaganda.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uSQnK5FcKas&feature=related http://youtube.com/watch?v=x9QNKB34cJo Food for thought while munching on your 'Freedom Fries', thinking all Muslims hate you because they supposedly "hate freedom", that Chinese people eat babies, and that we're in Iraq altruistically to 'spread freedom and democracy'... retarded sheeple, most of you. None of the American reports I've read even bother to mention how violence began by the monks, burning stores and killing people. By the way, most Americans probably have no clue that there are as many Christians in China as there are in the United States right now, and also that the Dalai Lama and his monks enslaved 95% of the Tibetans as serfs until, ironically, Mao was the one who freed them. I know it sounds crazy, but look it up. Tibet hasn't been an independent nation for centuries, in fact California and Texas have as much right to separate from the United States since it wasn't too long ago that they were independent regions or part of Mexico. Using similar propaganda, the LA Riots could be used as proof that Blacks, Latinos, and Asians were being oppressed by Whites. I don't get how some Jewish Americans can be for Tibet, when Palestine/Israel is a similar situation. Additionally on other topics, most sheeple never bothered to research that 99.5% of Chinese imports are safe, which is a higher percentage than imports to America from Mexico, India, and several Western European nations. Might recent media have something to do with our huge trade imbalance with China, and their refusal to float their currency? You have to understand the geopolitical motivations behind Western propaganda, especially as they pertain to 'Project for a New American Century' and maintaining hegemony. Our government and media still lives in the Cold War era. It is no secret we have toppled governments and funded rebel groups for geopolitical reasons, Tibet is no different.

Who are you talking to? No one I know has ever said Chinese eat babies. Just that they force the killing of female babies.

My point is, after EVERYTHING that has happened over the past 7 years, who can believe this administration or American mass media? It's full of propaganda for geopolitical reasons. This applies also to Tibet, and Chinese imports. Sheeple need to open their eyes.
As for the baby thing, it's very sad, however I heard it's mostly done in the very very poor countryside parts, where if you don't have a son to farm the land, the whole family basically dies. I have heard that in major cities like Shanghai, most of the Chinese men there do most of the cooking, cleaning, and child-rearing (due to so much competition for women). Bet you didn't know that a.paul.

Every media has bias. Every single one. No one is without bias. Good to remember that, if only to keep perspective. Now, overall, how do the Chinese treat their own people, the coal miners, those who live near the totally unusable, uber-polluted rivers, lakes, and ground water that China's rush to industrialize has produced??? Where are the crack investigative reports on human rights abuses inside China?? Where are the heirs to Mike Wallace, Morley Safer, Dan Rather-not, and Ted Koppel??? Oh, that's right: they can't even get close to China to make any reports. "Western media bias"???? Please. We don't know the half of what China is doing to people. Next question! //

I am looking at this from a historical context and perspective. 20 years ago China was a 3rd world nation. They are trying to cram 100 years of Western industrialization in 1/5 the, with 20 times the amount of people the United States had when we industrialized. Obviously there are going to be problems. But let's not pretend we didn't have similar if not worse experiences during our own industrialization (in which not only was there polluation, bad worker's and children and women's rights, but also the assassination of 4 Presidents).

If there was no social security in the United States, and there was a one-child policy, you'd be lying if you don't think there would be a huge gender imbalance in the United States, which is still very patriarchal. In fact, I believe 100+ years we did see this gender imbalance, when we were more of an agricultural nation.

Good comparison, yet I would submit that China has one huge stumbling block that the U.S. has not had to anywhere the same degree: freedom of expression, especially religious freedom. The U.S. has had its share of persecutions of minorities, as every black, Jew, Catholic, Irish, Italian, etc, can attest. But there has always been a way for the minority to rise up. America is living testimony to that. Not an easy path to break in, but not impossible, either. This doesn't happen in China. Not right now. Anything that the ruling elite of China says is "dangerous" to the nation is automatically banned and extinguished, be it the Falung Gong, the Tianeman uprising, the Tibet revolt, or any attempt to bring some new ideas into the country. China keeps a lid do tight it is hard to crack, if not impossible. Until that hermetically sealed container, called "China", is opened, it will be susceptible to totalitarianism and arbitrary human rights abuses. As we see now with the Tibetans. The Dali Lama a "terrorist"????? ![]() //

Don't know what you're arguing about here. China is China, and so the conditions you describe lead to the favoritism of boys (and very frequent girl fetus terminations). America, as you say, is different. So, where would you rather live??? //
