Like with a the MMGWC (man made global warming crap), it's the people who will pay. Higher taxes and/or higher rates for city cabs, higher rates for private cabs, some privates will simply go out of business if they can't afford to buy a new one. The Libs claim to be for the working man then they throw this MMGWC all over, it's crazy and sad.

There must be a reason , my friend . Gas price is high , crown vic. consume too much gas , if you don't replace it with an economic car , you will have to overcharge the customer to cut your fuel expenses ...Pick your poison.

I'd be curious what they're paying for them, even at $5 a gallon it takes a number of years to even break even on hybrids without even considering interest from money spent up front.

LOL... I knew it wouldn't be long before Con man outrage reared it's ugly head.

"How dare they tell cabbies how to run their business!!"

Replete with a spin that suggests "liberal legislation" will only "force" cab companies to raise rates.

More evidence of Carlin's simple summation:

Liberals: Humanity rights, people's rights, nature protections.
Conservatives: Business rights, property rights, corporation protections.

I'm just pointing out that it will raise cab rates, at least initially. But, yeah, they have no right to say cabbies have to use certain cars. Or they shouldn't anyway.

Tend to be a liberatarian, but the reality is that we are running out of oil, even if we do ANWR.. Detroit can do this if they want to, the issue is do they want to do it.. it is not a real big deal..

Democrats and RINO's with ideas like this, have made this country more of a police and nanny state than George Bush could ever, if he wanted to.

Yes, because Democrats and nannies wrote the Patriot Act I and II, and didn't hesitate to send Anthrax letters to top GOP lawmakers obstructing attorney-client wiretapping agendas. Of course.
