I do not see it I say we trade down for a veteran on D.
No rookie could crack starting D or O....except maybe jake Long on O line |

Jake Long
Chris Long Ryan Clady Chris Williams Antoine Cason Leodis McKelvin Dom Rodgers-Cromartie Aquib Talib Mike Jenkins Vernon Gholston of course, with the OLB's, it's a rotational thing (not necessarily 3-down LBs from day one)....it's hard to see right now how a first round corner wouldn't start. I think that the three tackles could start at RT or LT (with Light moving to RT) and immediately upgrade our oline. |

I dont think getting another LB to work into the rotation can go unnoticed. It would have to be a SPEED guy, start off as a 3rd down specialist. As far as game 1, I dont think BB will let a rookie start at CB but work his way in sure....I wouldnt move Light at all, but I think if they trade back that G/T Albert from Va looks like he would be a mauler! He could start or backup multi positions. More important, I think he can be had in the 2nd round!

BB has had seasons where he's had to start street free agents, late round draft picks and mid round draft picks at corner (Moreland, Gay, Samuel, Hobbs) all before they were ready. I bet he has few reservations about starting a top 15 draft pick at corner. A lot would depend on the kid's attitude and professionalism, though.

Given that of the three corner positions (right, left and and nickel), we have now have Hobbs, Spann and Richardson, I would say that any of about 25 corners might be able to start for us this year. The issue is where we draft corners. 2nd - 4th round is where we have secured starters in the past (or even UDFA's).
I think the issue is indeed whether a corner is ready to start. Any corner drafted by the patriots this year should be expect to compete for major minutes. |

I don't think Chris Long would be able to start for the pats. Especially over Warren or Seymour. If you slate him for OLB I think he'd have a lot of learning to do and it would really depend on how quickly he picks it up compared to who he's competing against.

Yeah, I should delete that post before it turns this thread into another "my dad can beat up your dad" pissing contest.
