Sounds soft to me, maybe i'm the only one but I want my linebacker to be somewhat of a raving lunatic
Or at least say things like Football is my life, I just am anxious to go out and be able to hit someone.
Not I want to work on the things the scouts look for.
Already talking about feeding his family getting real bad vibes off of this.

Put the number on there for that year. And the next year we start all over again everybody is at the same point."

This is my ideal linebacker, speed of, Thomas Howard, Heart of teddy Bruschi, brains of Mike Vrabel, nastiness of Joey Porter, sorry but he is mean, durability of jr seau, 6ft 3 285, when we find this guy that's the guy i'd give my draft and cap for.

No not saying Gholston is my ideal Linebacker, I'm saying that's what it would be.
A frickin Monster like that could you even imagine?

you could've just said..the closest thing to DeMarcus Ware who was a 4-3 DE in college..showed very good speed @ combine, 1 of the strongest players. difference is Gholston gets more attention because he played for Ohio State.

I disagree. I thought his entry sounded well thought out. And with our complexe defensive system, intelligence is a key requirement of a Patriots linebacker.

Care to share the numbers, or point to where we can see the numbers?
I know the combine is held feb 20-26, but haven't seen any results/hard numbers yet.

I agree with you VJC on the first quote.

There's nothing like drooling and sounding like a moron about wanting to hit grown men - NFL players from your diary. Instead, he's being honest and talking about the process and the preparations that he's going through.

If he was giving us the rah-rah bit there, I would then question his intelligence. When was the last time you heard a patriot talk about going out there to hit someone? He's a professional now, this isn't pop warner, this is a business.

In terms of his strength, he's been body building since he was 14 years old. So he's strong, and just in case you're not sure go to google picture search and type in his name and you get what looks to be a body builder in a football uniform.

On his official bio from the OSU site (http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/Vie...&Q_SEASON=2007)
it states he benches 455 lbs. that's pretty damn good.
His father passed away, and it's just him and his mother...

According to NFLDRAFTCOUNTDOWN.com his 40 speed is 4.75 which is compiled from various sources, so that's pretty good.
Plus considering he is training to run the 40, he will probably end up doing a little better. Maybe even come in closer to 260.

Forty times are nice, but to be the guy we need, he has to be "sudden". I'm looking for someone with a killer first step and a non stop motor. Since Ware and Merriman have teams already, I think Groves (reported to run a 4.43 on campus last fall) , provided he has no baggage, is the better option, but only in a trade down scenario.
